Been trying to quantify the difference b/w this and the fnx-tactical. Here's what I've come up with
not suppressor height sights, no night sights, no threaded barrel, lower cap magazines, slide isn't milled for rmr.
Feel free to chime in with more...
Both the tactical and non-tactical model comes with three 15-round magazines. I don't understand why you said it's a lower cap magazine.
You buy the tactical version _IF_ you have a surpressor AND can afford the RMR.... if you cannot or don't want to, you go with the standard FNX45. Price of standard FNX45 is 633.57 shipped, price of the tactical FNX45 is 999 shipped + RMR $450 + 45acp suppressor + $550
So....
FNX45 standard = 633.57
FNX45 tacticool = $1999
Difference = 1365.43 AKA enough to buy two FNX45s

owning all 3, hk45t, mk23, and fnx45t. hands down the fnx45t is the better value and imo better gun. the mk23 is damn nice and very accurate but lower capacity, proprietary rail and excessive price does not make it worth having.
that being said, if you have no plans to supress or add an optic then the standard fnx45 at 600 bucks is a fine weapon.
That's not a very cost-competitive alternative, haha. It's almost the same for just the gun as it is for the FNX45-T with a suppressor and RMR.
Closer comparison/alternative in the same vein would be a USP Tactical.
I have the same thing in 40. Wasn't bad. I own more enjoyable firearms.
