A buddy has one, a little over six pounds is about right. Love DD, but at least put an ALG trigger in for these prices. Even DD mil spec triggers suck!
The oem trigger is fine, break and reset are good. You guys who whine about 5lb triggers being too heavy are amusing.
The "Light Weight" applies to the barrel only, otherwise its the same as the v7... Its only a few OZ's, but its all out at the end of the weapon where it feels heaviest, and most figure its worth the trade off... Still, slightly less accurate during sustained fire, that's the trade, your call.
I would say that it doesn't matter one way or another if you purchase a LW version. By the time you add an optic, buis, etc. the few ounces you save fly out the window. I've always been accurate with this weapon (M4V5) no matter the loadout.
Also, I do agree saying that the pull is too heavy is just plain silly. It's just a mediocre trigger and I do think it is cheap that they can't throw a Magpul grip on there as well (now all the models have the tacky DD furniture) but that is going down another road. I thought the trigger was pretty good until I installed my SSA-E...I then saw the light.
You would think DD lists weight in specs for something they claim is "lightweight."
