The CZ-82 represented a significant advancement over the Soviet Makarov design. Czech engineers equipped it with a 12-round magazine capacity compared to the Makarov's 8 rounds, providing a 50% increase in firepower. The pistol featured superior ergonomics, better fit and finish, and ambidextrous controls that made it easier to operate for both left and right-handed shooters. The Czechs even developed their own "pistolový náboj vz. 82" ammunition, claiming it to be 20% more powerful than standard Soviet 9x18mm loads, though the CZ-82 reliably functions with all 9x18mm Makarov ammunition.
This semi-automatic, double-action/single-action pistol quickly earned a reputation for exceptional reliability and accuracy. had one for years , Nice gun but quite snappy for the caliber oh its has polygonal rifling - grooves are not visible Thought i got one that was shot out before doing research

These were $179.99 at PSA just 24 hours ago. Even Wikiarms still shows that price at the moment. Oh well.
Yikes, they have a tendency to advertise the best looking one, what you may get be bottom of the barrel, banana republic hand me down.
First pistol I ever owned. Such an interesting and fun little pistol. Not sure about the ammo availability and cost these days but may have to get one for old times sake. The one I bought in 1993, I think I paid like $40-$50...it was a super clean pistol and I loved shooting it.
These mags are all over Ebay. Premium price though.
Ebay only sells reduced capacity magazines, so pretty useless unless you live in a commie state. The actual standard capacity mags are hard to find or expensive. Otherwise these would be selling for more.
Until the PRK mag ban is struck down, even tho' these are C&R, how can you get one since AFAIK, nobody has ever made a low-cap 10rd mag for them?
Would love to get one, but until I escape the gulag or the mag ban is decided upon by SCOTUS and Saint Benitez' decision reinstated, it's a non-starter.

A person who posted a review (dated 01/01/26) of the pistol he got from PSA stated: "Imported by IO/Royal Tiger; marked underside of the beavertail." So I guess PSA is either getting them from RT or having them drop shipped from RT. Royal Tiger also offers extra 10 and 12 round mags that come with a mag holster.
