Canik SFX Rival-S 9mm 5" 18+1rd Chrome - $799

I own a Canik - paid $400 for it. It’s all well and good, they’re solid handguns but $1148 is asinine.

I think they are testing the waters and seeing how much they can get for them. when canik 1st hit the market a few years ago all their pistols were sub $300. yea the new ones are upgraded, lots of features, but they forgot why their pistols became so popular in the 1st place, it was because they were inexpensive

I own both this and the polymer version, don’t buy this at this price. The Rival-S is good mainly because of its price point, but it’s not worth $1.4K. The polymer version is $800-900 less and about 95% as good.

You can also buy an Optic-ready Shadow 2 for $300 less and that’s regarded as one of the best steel guns on the market. You’re also getting close to budget 2011 territory at this price.

I’m sure it’s a great gun but $1,400 is crazy for a Canik..if I’m spending this much it’s gonna be a FN,Sig Sauer,HK,Colt,CZ,etc..I would buy one for $800,possibly $900 but definitely not $1,000+..I have about $800 more than the asking price of this Canik in my Sig P320 build and it is a 100% custom build.don’t get me wrong,I’m sure this Canik would probably run every bit as well as my Sig Sauer but Sig is one of the most reputable firearm manufacturers in the industry and has been for many years.the Sig Sauer name and reputation warrants that premium price tag.don’t get me wrong,Canik make some damn good guns but part of what is so appealing about Canik is the fact you can get a very reliable,quality and feature rich firearm for quite a bit cheaper than competitors like Sig,FN,Colt,etc..this is just my take on it,I’m not here to debate with anybody.I love the chrome finish and the fact it has a steel frame but I don’t feel like this warrants the major price increase over the price of the polymer framed Rival “Dark Side”(I believe this is the name of it) or the other color patterns of the Rival..with all that being said,I’m sure it is an amazing firearm and would love to add it to my collection but at this price,I personally could find something more appealing to me

Been seeing these selling for $850-$900 for lightly used ones on the secondary market, and just sitting there.
