Not positive, I could be wrong, but if not mistaken, more companies decided to cease certain sales to CA residents. I wonder why 8-(|)
Yes, you are correct. As of Jan 1 2026, new gun control laws went into effect in CA and now includes almost all gun parts. The new laws don't ban the sale of parts delivered directly to residents, but now sellers must get a copy of the CA resident's drivers license, sign a form with a bunch of questions, and items be sent "signature required". Basically, the anti 2A CA legislators again making it more difficult to buy parts online, encouraging some sellers not wanting to bother with CA anymore. In some way I don't blame them (sellers), but even with all the CA restrictions, the CA market is one of the largest in the country, so most sellers are willing to put up with the extra requirements.
CZ, New England states are getting just as bad or worse in my opinion. Check out what Fetterman said about the Democrat-run state of Maine recently. He is a Democrat but has common sense IMHO. 8-(|)
Here they go, jacking up their prices AGAIN. Was $49.95 for months, now $59.95. Also, for you California residents: They won't sell ANYTHING to CA residents anymore, since Jan. 2026. Even though most sellers will still sell to CA, needing just a copy of you CDL, signature on a form and for delivery, BCM decided to cease ALL sales to CA residents. Very disappointed in BCM due to their big increase in prices over the last year or so, and this new exclusion policy. Not quite the value company they used to be.
Received mine last week. Great quality and couldn’t find a blemish
Shipping was under $10 to get 3 to MI. That's amazing in 2026.
Purchased 2. Transaction was smooth and shipping was reasonable.
I ordered 5x that just got delivered. None have any major defects. Slight uneven finish on them but no big deal. Did not test for thermal fit yet as I do not have any unused barrels sitting around.
I ordered a couple last week and both had the star forge markings. That's not always the case, and they were in pretty nice condition. Hard to beat for the price
I have one with a scratch that is through the finish. Still worth the money for me since I use my guns.
This is not a sale price. If you don't need an upper asap, just wait for the price to drop back down to $49.95. I've bought 4 of of these BCM demo uppers, no noticeable blemish. If you think about it, after assembling your AR15, it immediately becomes "used", and after a few trips to the range, it definitely can be considered blemish. I think selling " demo or blemish" parts is just a way for vendors to get rid of excess inventory and raise cash without devaluing the normal price (MSRP).
Thing is, the price IS currently $49. The gun.deals listing is bugged or something.
To add to your point though, these sometimes drop to $39.
These are very high quality, just be aware the barrel extension has to be fit by thermal expansion, it will not fit the receiver without heat applied.
Sign of a high quality part imo, I used a heat gun and my Ballistic Advantage slid right in. Gun shot flawlessly last week!
Mine fit without heat with no issues.
