The Ballistic Advantage 8.5″ .338 ARC Hanson Barrel (Premium Black Series) is purpose-built for compact AR-15 builds running heavier .338 ARC projectiles—especially where lower velocities demand faster stabilization. The 1:5 twist is optimized for short barrels and subsonic performance, helping maintain consistent accuracy and control with heavy bullets.
This barrel is machined from 416R stainless steel and finished with a QPQ (nitride/melonite) treatment for durability. BA’s Premium Black Series also adds a Nickel Boron-coated extended 350 Legend feed ramp extension for reliable cycling across a wide range of setups. As a Hanson series barrel, it includes a pinned low-profile gas block and uses BA’s proprietary Hanson profile for balanced handling. Not designed for aftermarket piston kits.
