They won't price match a coupon code, only the base price. But considering the 22% gift card discount, it's still not bad, especially for saps like me who don't have an Academy nearby and can't get firearms related items shipped to me (Illinois).
I tried my best to find a deal at Academy. Except for the GLock which I don't want, every gun and ammo deal I found I could buy elsewhere for cheaper. Even with adding a $15 FFL fee. They must have every gun (except for on sale) set at MSRP.

Bass pro is ruining Cabelas in the eyes of Cabelas customers but they don't care. As far as this deal, I would not buy from these discount second hand gift card websites. I've bought these type of gc's to find out they had already been cashed or they were bought with stolen credit cards. Much less hassle buying the 80% gc's on ebay from legit gift card companies like SVM...but I'm sure Basspro will put a stop to the discount gift cards and get rid of the bargain caves also.

Another protip: Cabela's guns can be expensive, but they price match a bunch of different sites, like Brownells, Academy, etc. Go find the lowest price and chat with an associate on their live chat. Make your purchase and they'll adjust the price after. With discounted gift cards, and a price match, I paid $189 for an AR-7 after taxes that would have cost me $310 if I had bought it without taking the effort to save some money.
Absolutely, but you still end up going to the store to make a purchase only to find out the cards are no good. Then have to call up raise.com and go through the hassle of proving that you cards are no good, then wait to get your money back. There is a better alternative. Buy from SVM on ebay. I've bought $1000's from this company at 20% off with zero problems. No cancelled cards because they were bought with stolen credit cards or gift cards were already used by someone else 2000 miles away like with Raise.com. One time my wife threw away $300 in gift cards from SVM. I emailed SVM and they verified the cards were not used, cancelled them , and mailed me new ones.

First of all, no one in the military or ex-military should 'expect' a discount. Anywhere. Ever. Nowhere on my DD Form 214 or on my military ID does it state stores should give me a discount. That is something some stores do to thank you for your service. It is not something you should demand. As far as price matching...simple. Go to the cheaper store. As far as layaway...get yourself a credit card. No need for them to hold your gun when you can be out shooting it. Layaway is for poor people or people with shitty credit. If you can't afford a gun now, do what the rest of us do. Either charge it or save up till you can afford it. I just now called my store in KC,KS. Yes. They DO price match on the same item. So maybe YOUR store just doesn't like your attitude.

Cabela's f-ing sucks now ! They also won't ship ammo to FFL's in California even though it's perfectly legal .... And bass pro (who owns Cabela's)sucks also they won't accept home lease agreements as secondary form for gun purchases in California even though it's written in the law is acceptable. I have boycotted both of them at this point.

Yes, the PRK enacted extra obstacles to gun purchases a decade ago. State-issued ID is no longer sufficient, since they give that to illegal aliens. Maybe it's a BATFE directive that only applies to states like CA that can't keep a clean house? Anyway, the added hassle of needing to show proof of address [since when is *that* a requirement to exercise our rights?] has had 0 f/x on crime, just makes it harder for the law-abiding to do business...
