Was looking at these but ended up with the 8x42 Athlon Midas for the money. ED glass, fully multicoat, dielectric coat, magnesium housing, bak4 prisms, FOV over 400 ft, and argon purged waterproof and fogproof. $199. You could step up to the Ares which would be the direct competitor to the Lupes but you wouldnt gain much value for the extra $100. There were a few complaints of a gritty focus knob but mine is smooth.
I have these. They are great binos, especially at that price. The only thing I dislike about them is that the focus knob feels cheap. They should have made it aluminum or something besides cheap feeling plastic.
