The Browning BPS Field Composite is a variant of the BPS Field pump-action shotgun, designed with durability and practicality in mind. It shares many features with the standard BPS Field model but differs primarily in its use of a polymer forearm and stock instead of walnut. This modification maintains the same weight for the 20-gauge models as their walnut counterparts but adds an ounce to the 12-gauge models, slightly increasing their heft. This model is available with either a 26” or 28” barrel, and uniquely, it also offers models with 3.5” chambers, which are slightly longer in overall length at 47 1/4” and 49 1/4”, and slightly heavier at 8 lbs. Like the standard BPS Field, the Field Composite is equipped with a floating rib, a silver bead front sight, and a top-tang safety that accommodates both right-handed and left-handed shooters. It employs bottom ejection for improved weather resistance, making it suitable for use in diverse weather conditions without the risk of rain entering through traditional side ejection ports. The Browning BPS Field Composite utilizes back-bored barrels for improved exit velocities, tighter patterns, and reduced pellet deformation. It is compatible with Invector-Plus interchangeable choke tubes and comes with Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder chokes. The shotgun's capacity is 4+1 with 2 3/4” shells or 3+1 with either 3" or 3.5” shells, and it includes a three-shot magazine plug. An Inflex recoil pad enhances comfort by reducing felt recoil, making it a practical choice for both new and experienced shooters.
