The Rock Island Armory TM22 is a blowback-operated, semi-automatic rimfire rifle with a commitment to "Total Metal" construction, incorporating steel alloys and 7075 aluminum with matching matte-black finishes. It features a monolithic receiver with a cover plate and a 7.5-inch optics rail milled from a single billet of aluminum. The TM22's grooved aluminum safety lever is positioned above the polymer AR-15-type grip, which is overmolded with lightly textured rubber for comfort. It uses proprietary, single-stack, aluminum magazines, with a checkered round-button magazine release on the right side. The rifle comes with two 10-round magazines that hold the bolt open after the last shot. The straight, flat-faced aluminum trigger has a very light 2-lb., 1-oz. pull. The TM22's handguard is a 10-inch free-floating aluminum piece with M-Lok accessory slots, and the fluted aluminum AR-15 buffer tube is capped with a skeletonized buttplate for a 13-inch length of pull. The muzzle is threaded to support various .22-cal. muzzle devices, and the rifle is available with either an 18-inch or 20-inch barrel. Despite its resemblance to AR components, the TM22 offers a unique platform with easy handling and a solid build, ideal for modern rimfire enthusiasts.
