The FN FNP series, produced from 2006 to 2011 by FN Herstal USA, includes a range of semi-automatic, polymer-framed pistols chambered for various calibers: 9×19mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, and .45 ACP. This series features hammer-fired designs utilizing a Browning cam system with an external extractor. The pistols have a trigger module housed within the polymer frame and offer a range of configurations, including double/single action, double-action only, or single-action only (the latter was eventually canceled). The FNP-9 variant, for example, has a trigger pull of approximately 8 lbs in double action and 3 to 4 lbs in single action. Each model in the FNP series—FNP-9, FNP-9M (compact), FNP-40, FNP-45, and FNP-357—features a stainless steel slide available in matte black or natural finish, and a polymer frame available in black or Dark Earth. They also come with options for standard or night sights. The series has been succeeded by the FNX pistol series, which builds on the FNP's foundation with additional enhancements.
