The Colt M2012 is a .308 Win-chambered precision rifleman's rifle that blends the tactical and hunting aspects. It looks remarkably elegant. Cooper Firearms in Stevensville, Montana, manufactures the M2012 exclusively for Colt, and it has the distinctive stamp of Cooper's skilled craftsmen. The three-lug design allows for quick, 60-degree bolt lifting and rapid cycling. It has a spiral-fluted bolt with an external extractor, tactical knob, and side bolt release. A 20-MOA top rail is firmly mounted to the action. NATO-stamped 7.62x51mm and SAMMI-spec .308 ammo both fit in the match chamber. A Remington-style safety is also included, along with Timney's single-stage adjustable trigger. A fluted, match-grade barrel is 22 inches long and made of stainless steel. The action and barrel are locked in place by a modular chassis made of forged aluminum. The stock is fixed and has a big wheel for adjusting the length of the pull. Accurate-Mag magazine with five rounds is included, but ten-round magazines are also available. The bottom of the magwell has a big machined-aluminum magazine release.
