PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
US Model 1903 / 03A3 - .30-06 Rifle 5 Rd Bolt Action - C&R Eligible - 5 Round, Bolt Action. - The M1903 or 1903A3 Springfield, formally the United States Rifle, Caliber .30-06, Model 1903A3, is an American clip-loaded, 5-round magazine-fed, bolt-action service rifle used primarily during the first half of the 20th century. It was officially adopted as a United States military bolt-action rifle on June 19, 1903, and saw service in World War I. It was officially replaced as the standard infantry rifle by the faster firing semi-automatic 8 round M1 Garand starting in 1937. However, the M1903 Springfield remained in service as a standard-issue infantry rifle during World War II, since the U.S. entered the war without sufficient M1 rifles to arm all troops. It also remained in service as a sniper rifle during World War II, the Korean War, and even in the early stages of the Vietnam War. It remains popular as a civilian firearm, historic collector's piece, and as a military drill rifle. Note - The cart will default to the Remington brand at $1499.99. All of these are manufactured by Remington. The few Smith Corona's we had are sold out.

Note #1 - This particular group of rifles feature the original U.S. military contract manufactured G.I. barrels. These barrels were purchased as surplus new in the wrap and were never utilized in building or replacing a rifle barrel during the years that these rifles saw service. The original G.I. barrel added to the production cost of these rifles but also adds value as a collector's piece.

Note #2 - These rifles will either be the 1903 or the 1903 / A3 designation depending on the year of manufacture. For purposes of selling them under this SKU we make no distinction between the 2 models. These rifles have been professionally refurbished and are in very good to excellent surplus condition.

Fun Fact - The scoped sniper variation of this rifle was highlighted on the big screen by actor Barry Pepper's character, Private Daniel Jackson, as the platoon sniper in the WWII film Saving Private Ryan.

BUYERS BEWARE!!

Ive purchased the Zastava M83 surplus pistol from this company before. I paid extra for the "hand selected" "best of the crate" BS. The one I received seems like it was slid across the warehouse floor and rand over by the forklift before it was shipped to me. ABSOLUTELY stay away from ALL SURPLUS sales from this company.

Yup. Sweaty Ben's done that to a bunch of us, and worse, and he filters the negative reviews as damage control. Many people have been called "infamous." He's "infamouser."

You Eva use a twisted coat hanger for a ram rod while cleaning out the barrel with Hoppe’s No. 9 ?

While I love the 1903 A3 rifle platform, it seems Classics "description" of their rifles for sale is an issue. Quite a few complaints about cut and rewelded on/off switches often showing poor welds and grinding marks. Also stocks are often in very rough shape with visible cracks and deep gouges ... I'd say if your buying one of these be sure to do a thorough examination at your local FFL. That's about your only chance to return the rifle if you choose to do so.
I have a US Remington A3 that unfortunately has been "sporterized" back in the early 50's. It was my grandpa's favorite hunting rifle and it was passed down to my uncle who killed many deer, elk and even an antelope. I to this day take it with me on my hunting trips. It's been well taken care of and is a cherished possession of mine. I can honestly say that my rifle has probably killed 50+deer, 12 to 15 elk, a few bears and an Antelope. My rifle has had the barrel ported, been drilled and tapped for a scope and then a walnut sport stock was added. The only complaint that I have with my rifle is how heavy it is. It's a tank and it shoots like one, even with the added porting.
Anyhow I thought I'd share about my rifle and experience with it. Really neat rifles if you can actually get a good one. I want one of the OD green actions.
