The CZ 452 rifle was first introduced in 1956, and remained in production until it was replaced by the CZ 455 in 2011. In 2006, CZ-USA offered nine variants of the CZ 452 rifle, including models like the American, FS (Mannlicher stock), Lux, Training Rifle, Scout, Silhouette Synthetic, Style, and Ultra Lux, each distinguished by differences in stock design, materials, sights, metal finishes, and barrel configurations. The CZ 452 was chambered in calibers such as .17 Mach 2, .17 HMR, .22 LR, and .22 WMR, although not all chamberings were available for every model. The 452 action was also used in the CZ 453 American and Varmint models, notable for their single-set triggers, and the 513 Basic, which featured a simplified trigger and sights. Left-hand versions were available for some models, adding versatility to the lineup. The CZ 452 American, specifically, was characterized by a straight comb and simple rounded fore-end in its American walnut stock, contrasting with the Euro-style 452 models that had a hogsback comb and schnabel fore-end. The stock, featuring a semi-pistol grip, crisp checkering, and a satin finish, was designed for full-sized adults. Other features included a 1/2-inch thick textured-rubber butt pad, front and rear sling swivel studs, and functional 14 lpi checkering on the wrist. While the all-steel bottom metal added durability, the stamped trigger guard was less aesthetically aligned with the rifle’s classic design.
