The Beretta Px4 Storm Subcompact, introduced in 2008, was available in 9x19mm and later .40 S&W. Designed for personal defense and law enforcement, it features a DA/SA trigger and a corrosion-resistant stainless steel barrel, making it ideal for concealed carry. This model is an evolution of the Beretta 9000, sharing similar components like the recoil spring guide rod. Unlike the Px4 full-size and Compact models, the Subcompact uses a tilting barrel system and a rotating takedown pin. It also offers compatibility with SnapGrip Extender base plates to enhance grip length, and shares interchangeable parts such as safety levers and magazine release buttons with the full-size and Compact versions. The Subcompact can utilize longer magazines from the full-size and Compact models, with Beretta offering a magazine sleeve for a 17-round magazine to extend the grip. As of 2023, the Px4 Subcompact has been discontinued.
