While the Glock 17 was invented as a military handgun and a sidearm for uniformed operators, the Glock 19 was designed having concealed carry in mind. Introduced in the late 1980s, the Glock 19 looks like the G17, but it comes in compact form with a 4.02" barrel length, an overall length of 6.85", and weighing only 30.16 oz. when loaded. Thanks to its compact design and lightweight, this gun has been considered one of the best pistols for concealed carry, but also combat. The Glock G19 features the same hexagonal barrel rifling, but unlike the G17, it has a 15-round magazine capacity, more than enough for undercover work. As the best-selling Glock model, the G19 gained ground among both civilians and law enforcement in the US.
