PSA AK 105 in 5.45x39 - Triangle Folder With Upgrades

Hey, everybody, welcome back to gun.deals. Today, on the table, we have a PSA AK 105. Let’s get this review started.

Alright, folks, as I said, this is a PSA AK 105 chambered in 5.45x39. Ok, so let’s go and start off, this is actually a really feature-rich gun, but let’s start at the back here, we have an SP tactical triangle brace right here to close these as foldable, just push up on the brace and it will fold over like so, so you can still reach all your controls, your grip and your trigger, so you can fire with that brace closed, no problems whatsoever, it is only attached by one screw right here on this 1913 pic-rail.

So, for some reason you don’t like the brace or if you want to SBR it and switch it out or do something, I don’t know or if you just want to take it off and use it without it, welcome to do that, it gives you all kind of options right there.

Now, moving along, we do have the takedown button right here, to take this cover up, I’ll show you that in just a second. So, moving to the upper and lower receiver, the rivets all look very, very nice indeed, no problems there.

Now, one thing I notice, a little different in standard, a case is, we do have an iron sight at the back here and typically you have the iron sight right here and has adjustments up to 800 yards. This, however, is a hinged dust cover, so they actually put an iron sight at the back, which I don’t hate, I’m not gonna lie, I think it works pretty well, so I don’t mind that whatsoever. So, it does have a 1913 pic-rail up here, so you can attach optics and whatever else you want, and you have another 1913 rail-pic at the front here.

Now, moving down, we do have the safety and it does have that little tab here, which I like, so can manipulate it with my finger on that safety. On the other side, interestingly enough, we do have a mount here, so you can put on a side mount, obviously we have a 1913 pic-rail on the top, but you can also add the side mount, if you prefer that method, I guess. So, you have the option of both, whatever you decide to do.

Now, moving down, we do have a magpul grip, little storage compartment on the bottom and then we have an AK trigger on here from ALG, and I do like these triggers a lot, I have used them quite a bit in the past, they are nice triggers and you can definitely get up and running with these triggers and get it moving pretty fast, so you got a little bit of take-up, and it just kind of a nice clean quick break, and then on a reset a little bit of let out, very positive and tactile reset on there. I do like those triggers a lot, I would highly recommend, if you have an AK and you don’t have one to look into those.

Obviously, we do have the standard paddle mag release right here, I do like these, they’re very intuitive for me, I do like them a lot also, and we’ll go over the bolt carrier group in just a second.

Ok, so moving up, this handguard, this on top of your gas tube here and this lower handguard is a JL Billet handguard, it’s really nice, the fit and finish is awesome, has M’LOK slots at 3, 6 and o’clock position. I really like these modern handguards to attaching stuff, I think they look a lot better too, personally, aesthetically look good and for actual purpose they’re actually really good also, so I do like that. It does have a mount here for a sling also.

So, below this, the barrel is 12.5 inches, it’s 1-10 twist and it’s a Chrome Moly steel barrel and it’s a gas nitride finish, so a decent barrel under there and at the top here we have a linear comp flash can, let me just show down the end there, don’t duck for cover your AK, and you can take these off the same as any other AK muzzle device, there’s a little pin in here that you would just push down and then you can just rotate that off, so you can change it out if you wish. So, aesthetically on the outside of this gun the fit and finish is superb, super nice trigger, really, really nice furniture, I do like that a lot.

Now, to take the AK down you’ve got this little push button, and very simply just push it down, past the dust cover, and as you can see here, the dust cover is hinged, I do like that. Some people have said they don’t feel like the return to zero is the best with hinge covers, I’ve not really had a problem with that, again, if you don’t like that you can also do the side mount, whatever you want, so it’s nice to have options. Ok, so, we have the guide rod and spring, push that forward, pull that out. It’s there, and then just pull back and you can pull out the bolt in the carrier. Now, all these parts are made by Tool Craft and their hammer force along with the front trunnion and, again, the fit and finish is really nice on these bolts.

Ok, so, obviously we are back together, now, I’m very impressed by these guns, I think they’re super nice, I had no problems with mine, I’m probably about 300 rounds through with a 5.45x39, I’ve had no problems, no jams or nothing very nice. Accuracy seems to be pretty decent, I’ve had no problems with that. Overall, just, you know, it’s just a very nice gun, I think PSA has done another really good job with this 105.

Now, there’s a lot of varieties of this gun out there as well, so there’s different options you can go, ones without the brace, with a brace, different configurations and things like that, but I do like them, I am impressed. Now, let’s talk about the price point.

Yeah, I do like them, I really do like this 105, it’s very cool.

PSA does have a lifetime warranty on all their firearms, so if you do ever have a problem with them, they will take care of you, just hit them up, but, yeah, good to go in my book.
