After a rough year like 2020 there has to be something positive eventually, and there's nothing more positive than a new gun. After Shot Show there are a many new rifles coming to the market from all over. Let's look at some of the top rifles and new models coming to us in 2021.
Our Selection of New Rifles in 2021:
To make an affordable “starter” addition to the popular 557 Series, CZ introduced the CZ 557 Eclipse. The new 557 Eclipse rifle keeps the tradition with the well-known precision push-feed action while making a few changes to cut the cost. Instead of hardwood stocking the rifle, the new bolt gun has a glass-reinforced polymer stock that CZ calls the soft-touch finish.
The 20” barrel is cold hammer-forged and lapped in the factory, and a 20.5” version in 6.5 Creedmoor comes with 5/8x24 threads, making it ready to accept a suppressor or brake. Like all 557 rifles, the new CZ 557 Eclipse features a fully adjustable trigger and 19mm dovetails machined into the top of the receiver for easy mounting.
The Eclipse comes in three different cartridges: 6.5 Creedmoor, 30-06 S, and 308 Winchester, with a hinged floorplate magazine holding five rounds. Keeping the core of the 557 and knocking almost $250 off the price point, CZ made it clear that they think about all shooters, including the ones looking for quality and accuracy without spending a great amount of money.

Maintaining the performance of a factory blueprinted action, the new 110 Ultralite from Savage® is a lightweight and ultra-modern hunting rifle. The carbon-wrapped stainless steel barrel and melonite skeletonized receiver keep this rifle’s weight at 6 pounds and under, depending on the chambering.

Henry announced in November of 2020 that they are replacing 29 of their legacy models with updated versions. This update includes changing all of their steel-framed centerfire lever guns to include a side gate upgrade. This won't remove the 1860-based removable tube magazine.
What this allows for is easy loading via the side gate and safe unloading by undoing the magazine tube. This will apply to their .30-30, .45-70, and .410 guns. It will also include revolver caliber Big Boy models, All Weather and Color Case Hardened rifles that didn't feature this option to begin with.
On top of this Henry has released single shot rifles in .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster for their H015 series. And for those shotgun-only areas they have released the Henry Single Shot Slug Barrel Shotgun in 12 gauge. All of this combines into a total of 32 new models which are available now. However, like everything gun related, stock is not guaranteed and many options are out of stock in online venues.

Available beginning in March 2021, Savage is releasing a new bolt gun aimed at long distance performance on, you guessed it, big game. It features a straight pull bolt, aluminum receiver for weight savings, and carbon steel fluted barrel with a 5/8-24” thread.
It also features multiple comfort features like a round knob bolt handle and a flush fit magazine with a 2- to 4-round capacity depending on the chambering. On top of that it features an AccuStock with adjustable length-of-pull and comb height so you can dial in the stock to your needs.
There is also the user adjustable AccuTrigger and a 1-piece 20 MOA rail built in to help with accuracy. Coming in at 8.8 lbs. or 3.99 kgs from the synthetic stock and aluminum receiver, the Impulse Big Game isn't extremely light but it is also meant for some magnum calibers. The Impulse Big Game is chambered in .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Short Magnum. .300 Winchester Magnum, .30-06 Springfield, .243 Winchester, and 6.5 Creedmoor.
With an MSRP just under $1500 US this rifle is made for those who want to invest in the hunting equipment rather than some basic plinking. Check your local Savage dealers for availability.
For those who want a quieter tool for varmint hunting or something to get new shooters used to handling guns, Winchester is now offering a suppressor ready version of their Wildcat rifle. It features a polymer upper assembly and lower receivers with a skeletonized ambidextrous stock. There are also picatinny accessory and sight rails on this model in order to add lights, red dots, and other improvements with ease.
The Wildcat SR has an ambidextrous magazine release, fully adjustable ghost ring rear, and a ramped front sight so it's ready to go right out of the box. While a suppressor is not included it does come pre-threaded for a suppressor with a 1/2'x28 TPI threaded muzzle and a knurled thread protector. If you're looking to get a “can ready” gun the Wildcat is ready to go with an MSRP of around $300 US and it's currently in stock (subject to change).
Red Arrow Arms has released a RAW15 .300 Blackout rifle. It features a 16” Chrom- Moly barrel that is free floated and Melonite coated. This means it is nowhere near SBR territory but you can still get the performance of .300 AAC without the hassle of a tax stamp.
The lower receiver is a 7075 T-6 aluminum and so is the flat top upper with T-marks. It features a CMC 3.5 lb single stage trigger and a 1:8 twist rate for the barrel. The handguard is a 15” M-LOK Rail Enhanced Trigger Guard and the stock is a MagPul CTR Stock.
All these benefits enable you to slap your accessories onto the gun as soon as you get it without needing to replace parts. Set in the premium AR price range at just over $1k US it is available for purchase now.
Uberti is adding another caliber for their Courtney Stalking rifle. This single shot rifle used to be featured in only .303 British but is now being expanded to include the .45-70 cartridge. This is perfect for those looking for a classic hunting rifle but want a metallic cartridge gun.
The Courtney 1885 features an adjustable shallow V notch and quarter rib slotting for Weaver rings. There is an option for a plain quarter rib for the V-sight and it's marked under Uberti's accessories listings.
The .45-70 model is available now. Check your local retailers for availability
With most new rifles falling in with the AR-15/AR-10 platform there isn't much that is “new” new this year. However, companies will continually roll out better versions of more modern rifles which may or may not end up in the hands of enthusiasts, collectors, hunters, and competitors.
But this year there have been a number of “classic” guns that have come to or are coming to the market. The bolt gun category is getting better every year and the upgraded models of lever actions in Henry's catalog certainly are exciting developments.
