Updated 21 months ago

How many of you have wanted a tactical shotgun, and how many of you have seen Benelli's M4 Tactical shotgun and drooled over it until you saw the price tag? Some of you've heard that there's no such thing as AAC stupid question, but there are. What if you could get an M4 clone for one sixth the cost? Would that have your attention? The next question most of you are going to ask us is “What kind of quality can we get for that price?” You get what you pay for is what many will say, right? That's a good question.

Let's take a look at MAC, Military Armament Corporation, their 1014, and find out for ourselves. Check out and decide for yourself!

I'm Drew Case from Beyond Seclusion bringing you the reviews directly here to gun.deals where I only give you my honest opinion, and it is what it is.

Many of you thinking “Seriously, dude, what can you expect from an M4 clone for $3749?” Yeah, you heard that right. Well, let's just address the elephant in the room before someone gets on their horse, yes MAC guns are made in Turkey. Regardless of what you think there is a lot of quality guns made in Turkey, folks, that have proven track records with militaries around the world. Some of them, yeah, you would be shocked at their proven track record blow away some of the things that you think are a no-brainer.

With that said, this is not a Benelli, but the Benelli is out of most of our price ranges. What if we could have our cake and eat it too? Let's just run through this front to back, so we've got the butt pad, the sling attachment, pistol grip. As far as the safety, it's the old like the Ruger 10/22, we've got the ghost ring size, fully adjustable windage and elevation, we've got a nice rail here that comes standard on it the front sight.

The front sight actually is adjustable for windage but I would definitely go with the back. We've got this rubber piece that fits over the charging handle okay these are all going to be interchangeable with the M4 is my understanding, so you can get rid of the rubber butt piece or change those out if you want. If we want to be able to hold that back we just push this in and then the bolt release. The feed ramp here, guys, this is awesome, I'm going to show you later. How many of you hate putting these in because it bites your thumb? This one is no problem. We've got the sling mount and we can change this to down or either side.

We have a limit of five rounds but we can just simply swap this out. I'm going to show you on the web page a couple of things, I would just swap this out so that we can hold seven rounds, and then they also have the little sling attachment up here, and this is easy, super easy to swap out, and then I'll show you here quick the different choke tubes. So if you're like me you opened it up and you pulled these out, and you're looking, and you're looking, and you're thinking they didn't mark these, and then I'm looking at the choke tube things and that's the little notches here, so that's the full choke and so on, it's actually a genius idea.

I’m going to give you a spoiler alert, guys, This thing rocks to shoot, It is awesome, it is fun, it is ergonomic, comfortable, quick-easy target acquisition, and the recoil, I hate shooting 3-inch mags, you'll see, this thing handles them like a champ compared to just your pump action or whatever. Anyway, spoiler alert, I love this.

When you compare this to the M4 there's not much difference other than who's making it and where. I'm not saying this is a Benelli or it's the equivalent of a Benelli, but it's looking good as an option for most of us that we could afford if it performs well. Let's find out! It looks great on paper, let's start having some fun! One thing I like to do with tactical shotguns is shoot trap, if I can shoot trap I think it's good for tactical, and then I want to put some different rounds through it. Anyway, let's get started.

We're going to run a variety of loads through this, I'm going to start off doing just basically a mag dump, see how fast I can get them off, and then I've got a special guest today, volunteer, it's going to do the 3-inch mags for me and make sure they cycle, and then we're going to have some fun, we’re gonna shoot some trap.

This is my special guest, this is my 16-year-old son. He likes shooting trap, he's actually really good at trap, and this is just fun. I just want to make sure everything functions flawlessly, I'm going to do a mag dump with the two and 3 quarters, and then he's going to do the 3-inch mags, and then we're going to start having some fun and shoot some trap, let's get to it.

We're going to go the 3-inch mags here, and I'm going to be honest I hate shooting 3-inch mags, so I got my volunteer, he was asking me what are 3-inch mags like, let's find out.

We were talking and we both agree, when we are shooting those 3-inch it just really seems like this doesn't have a lot of recoil, and Wyatt was saying using his gun just when he shoots trap that this feels like it has a lot less. What we're going to do is we're going to do a quick slow-mo and we're going to shoot the 3-inch out of each of these, and see how noticeable of a difference there is, if there is one.

Yeah, I felt like a 3-inch mag!

Drew: What do you think?

Wyatt: Big difference, definitely!

I was showing a difference between a pump action and a semi-auto, and that's not fair, so I grabbed my Mossberg, my JM Pro Series here. Let's just do a 3-inch mag out of this and we can compare that to the other semi-auto.

Not as big a difference between that and the pump. Still, for a small lightweight short shotgun, yeah, it does have very little recoil.

A lot of you have had shotguns when you're loading this in and it just bites the crap out of your thumb, this is awesome, the last shotgun review that I did I really had to watch my thumb cuz, man, that sucker, it would bite it and hold it in there. This rocks!

I think that works! For tactical, yeah!

Nice! Give some buck shot a go!

Alright, ready when you are!

Drew: What you think?

Wyatt: I liked it!

Drew: It really doesn't have much recoil, does it?

Wyatt: No!

Drew: No, this is enjoyable to shoot, guys!

Let's just try the slugs quick!

That's loud!

Drew: There you go, guys, I got to say I was really impressed with that, that was fun to shoot. What' you think?

Wyatt: I enjoyed it!

Drew: I mean, I was shocked at how little recoil it had, especially when he brought out his and we compared them side by side. Anyway, it was awesome, I think this is a keeper.

There you have it, guys, I hope you enjoyed the reviw, I hope it answered your questions, provided the information that you were looking for.
