Bags themselves are good. Straps are shorter than normal (not by a lot but enough) so if you are a big man expect it to be very tight. Even after you adjust it fully.

JRA Gallant 5.56 NATO 18" Barrel W/ Compensator Battle Worn Original Wood Handguards 30 Rd S.F. Stock No Bayonet Lug - $929.99

I really like my JRA - more than I expected. Considering that parts kits and individual original parts are increasingly nonexistent, the Gallant is a great way to start a Galil clone project. If you want to try and make your Gallant more authentic:

1.) You can probably find an original grip for about $20. 2.) Last time I checked, Atlantic Firearms was selling pairs of original magazines for a reasonable price. 3.) Galilhub has IDF slings available. 4.) As noted by another commenter, the barrel is not original - I mention this because I bought a bayonet lug, but it doesn't quite reach the gas block due to the thickness of the barrel. Still, I think Apex has bayonet lugs available. 5.) Fortunately, I was able to purchase a bipod - but it was expensive! Good luck finding one - the bipod really helps complete the look. 6.) The only thing I'm missing is a set of night sights - Meprolight didn't respond to my request to make some more! 7.) I bought a replica carry handle, but chose not to cut a notch in the JRA's original handguard. I definitely recommend following suit - authentic handguards have become unobtanium. Even replica handguards are hard to find - there are people who can make them, but they are expensive and those folks typically want you to provide the metal hardware. Thus, my replica carry handle is going to be sitting in a bag for a while!

(Although we all seem to like carry handles in video games, apparently IDF soldiers hated them - the original handguard that will come with your JRA is going to be more representative of most Galil ARMs.)

Please don't consider me an expert: there are guys on here who know a lot more than I do. Listen to them, not me. But the Gallant has a been a fun project for me. I don't have enough rounds through it to evaluate if it's 'duty-rated.' I would certainly assume it's not: it's an obsolete system comprised of of old and new parts. I consider my Gallant to be a little piece of functional history with a great story behind it. You never know when the parts supply will completely dry up, so if you want a Galil clone and you want to avoid auctions, now is probably the time. The Gallant is, in my opinion, a really great platform to build out as you please - and it's certainly fine as-is. I don't think you'll regret it, especially considering the price. If you're set on creating the best fake Galil possible, and you have thousands to spend on it, there are indeed better options. But the Gallant is a good gun, a great value, and incorporates some hard-to-find original parts. What's not to love?
