They are authorized but i have used 4 pay twice and they havent according to my monitoring, maybe they only run a credit check if youre using a debit card or something
With shipping its usually a few bucks cheaper at the armory but I like using the 4 payment option from SG so the wife is less likely to notice i bought a bunch of ammo
Keep in mind that SPG is authorized to run a 'hard' credit check on you if you select the 4-pay option (it is in the fine print when you select this option). It you have credit monitoring it may come as a bit of a surprise when you see a hard ping against your credit (and the corresponding lowering of your score).
Cheaper here. $299.5 with free shipping.

Do they have free shipping deals that apply to ammo?
I'm sure (most) everyone already knows you can beat this deal in most states with the deal on the same ammo from 'The Armory' and get an ammo can to boot. But in some scenarios this may be just as good a deal if sales tax and gift cards skew this to the benefit of SG (as long as the ammo can has no worth to you).
When the deals are this close with SG FREE shipping I always use SG with 4 Pay and then you get an additional discount with the Buyers Club Advantage Visa which was an additional $7.87 off.
I did take advantage of 'The Armory' deal and it was nice getting 1K delivered in a can.
Russian garbage. 1st off, don't fund the ruskies. 2nd, this is bimetal crap that will eat your barrel.
I had Sportsmans Guide price match the Armory @ $303.44, my total was $274 delivered for a 1000rds of Wolf Gold 223 and this was without a membership!
Really! How did they verify price? You were able to use coupon codes after they price matched?
All you do is tell customer service that the Armory has the same merchandise for $303.44, they will put you on hold while a separate department verifies the price and yes all coupons still apply. They will price match for up to 30 days after your order if you find a lower price else where.
There are a few places with similar prices. I have had a much better experience with the TheArmory than TheSportsmanGuide. I used to buy a lot from SG until they screwed me with cancelled 22lr orders. TheArmory shipping is quick and cheap forthe east coast.
I found only this one: http://goo.gl/7SHsRG...
Not a good deal. Deal price requires a PAID membership. There are other places selling this ammo at $300 per 1000 rounds that do not require any special paid membership and their customer service is better.
For 30 cents per round is this good deal? Did anyone test this ammo before? Are they good for hunting? Thanks for any input.
good deal, I would say yes, great deal I would say no, many states it is illegal to use .223 for hunting as it is not powerful enough to kill big game compared to 30-06
Can .223 knock out the deer in couple hundred yards?
This is great ammo, buy with confidence.

I'm not sure how the OP got the price down to $282.49. The best I could get was $319.98. Unless there is a trick that I don't know of, you can't stack the coupon codes listed in this posting.

Edit:
Plus shipping charges
But for $50/1000 more you can get Wolf Gold. Not a deal
$50 a case higher than anybody else that is a lot of the shipping, I guess if you live in Alaska it's pretty good
Great deal! Still like the ADI 5.56 rounds better, more expensive than these but way better. People who shot that stuff keep buying it even though it's about .55cent a round.
Target sports USA has this for $389.50 with free shipping. Sportsmans guide should price match them. If you already purchased, SG will price match for 30 days.
I received 1,000 rounds from The Sportsman's Guide today and just submitted a request for their Low Price Guarantee. Shot about 300 rounds without any issues. And the magnet didn't stick to the bullet.
Got an $18.99 credit card refund from Sportsman's Guide for the Low Price Guarantee. Good call gilberm!
This is a pretty shady company. I've had three dealing with them. One order was fine. The second order they tried to charge me $31 more after the order was shipped. The third order they added $10 after the payment has been processed. I've been shopping online for 15 years, this is the first company that freely changes the order total after the customer has paid. I'm canceling my membership and won't shop there again.
Ya, I'm surprised there isn't more talk over this deal.
I guess some people don't like or can't shoot steel ammo in their guns.
I have never seen 1000 rounds delivered for $200 (or less)!
Only for Backorder now. It says Nov 12, so we will see.
In for a box....

Unfortantly not much you can do about sales tax, but you can uncheck "package protection" next time and save a buck.
BTW: What is package protection?
EDIT: Package Protection guarantees you an expedited reship or refund should something happen to your package en route to you. You won't have to wait for claims to be filed, or paperwork to be processed. If you don’t want this service, simply uncheck the box.
Not sure why, but in the mailbox at work today was a $20 gift card from Sportsman's Guide!

Sick price on 1000 rounds for my AR15!
(Got $6.27 back from FatWallet, for a total of $171.94)
as someone pointed out on a forum, in this case it is cheaper to sign up for membership, price is still $204 shipped with free membership. Add it to cart, it will offer you to join, decline the first offer and they will offer you free shipping, double the discount and after $25 off membership will be free.
