I would not suggest buying any OPMOD scopes or red dot sights if they are any color besides black. I only say this because if your optic goes bad and you try to warranty it though the manufacturer they can only replace it in black because optics planet has the exclusive on some of the sights in FDE and other highly desirable combat color shades.
When my Sigsauer Romeo5X in FDE stopped working after 6 months with a lifetime warranty, I contacted Sig and they had no problem replacing the sight, however only OP Opmod had the exclusive on that sight in FDE. And my complete 5.56 duty gun is FDE. When I called Optics Planet for help replacing my sight they pretty much told me to pound sand because it was past the 30 day cutoff. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up regarding the OPMOD products.
The real lesson here is to not use a junk optic on a duty gun.
Thanks for the heads up. I'd suggest selling the black replacement on ebay and buying another OPMOD with the money. I haven't heard of too many issues with Vortex scopes, they seem to be built very well. Seeing this color in person now, I can't imagine it looks right with an all FDE build unless you have various shades. The OPMOD color looks like a mix of FDE and Bronze.
