Description

There when you need it. Safely secured when you don't. For security and peace of mind in an uncertain world, reach for this Glock® 37 Handgun. Easy to carry and conceal, simple to operate, and highly accurate.

For those who prefer large-caliber handguns, the Glock 37 represents a quantum leap forward in big-bore technology. The secret to the magic lies in the innovative .45 Glock Automatic Pistol round, which cuts down the length of the standard .45 ACP by a full eighth of an inch, solving the two major problems of the .45 ACP: weight and size. The end result is a Pistol that handles and carries like a Glock 9mm, but still delivers most of the .45's power.

This particular model is used, in very good condition. So you get all the Glock performance, but for way less!

Used, in good condition
Barrel is manufactured using a cold-hammer forging method for uniform precision and consistency
Low bore axis increases accuracy by reducing muzzle flip and recoil
Polygonal barrel rifling reduces wear and tear on the barrel and creates better bullet-to-barrel fit. This minimizes barrel residue and produces consistent and increased bullet velocity
Glock applies advanced surface treatments on major metal components, resulting in slightly less-than-diamond hardness
Equipped with night sights
Includes a 10-rd. magazine

The only reason this round was created was to suite all the women that spilled into law enforcement at the time. They wanted a manstopper in a frame small enough for Paris Hilton. The FBI did the same thing when they went back to the 9mm. I know a retired FBI agent and he claimed the anology behind the 9mm service cartridge was “more ammo, therefore less training and no need for well placed shots, and also less training to overcome the recoil of the 40S&W. Everything is about money. Less training = Less money spent by the agency. In the same token the 45GAP was a gap filler. I have a feeling some also liked having more control over civilian ammo purchases and what better way than with a soup can cartridge with almost no availability?

Sounds like a bunch of crap straight out of someone's ass with a misogynistic wife's-tale sprinkled on top. Tell me the one about 5.56 is not about killing but wounding and how a 22LR "bounces around" inside a person.

If power was truly king, the PoPo would still rocking .357 magnum revolvers.

There aren't any women here to ingratiate yourself to with your beta male, feckless feminist rhetoric, so you can save it. What a cuck. He didn't say how the females were only hired because of affirmative action and that most of them were inept and incapable of performing anything but desk duties and should have never been hired. He merely stated that there were a lot of females being placed into LEO positions. Its 50/50 if you are a man hating bull dyke or some gelded beta cuckold but either way you should find a different forum, most of us here are not your kind of people.

I reload, have one, and like it! 45 caliber hole, with a Glock 17 grip frame. Very accurate, feels smaller than the SF.

Looks brand new. Probably only fired that one time they found ammo for it.

Don't get why the GAP was created when the 45acp was already a low velocity round an being the same size diameter you don't gt extra rounds. 45acp isn't a big deal with regards to recoil. I think this was POINTLESS!

So does everyone else that is why they are giving this gun away. At least giving away for a Glock.

There was some rumor I heard a few years ago that it would be the new caliber supplied to allied foreign soldiers and police... Like remember all those guns provided to the iraqis that later went right into the hands of terrorists? Unlike 9mm badguy's would likely have a pretty difficult time sourcing bulk .45GAP after we stopped providing it. Eh, an interesting idea anyway.

Glock came out with the round for those wanting a 45 in a short frame. Obviously this was before the SF models came out. I agree, the round is kind of pointless.

.45 GAP...the answer to a question that no one was asking.

Haha that's what I always say about the series 80 firing systems on 1911s

Agreed, a heavier/stronger firing ping spring will prevent the firing pin from moving forward by inertia in case of a barrel first fall to the ground in the incomparable 1911 pistol

Just drop in a titanium firing pin. Around $20. No mass, so it doesn't hit the primer when dropped, only when hit by the hammer. Unlike the 80 series, no change to your trigger pull.

If you buy a 45GAP you have to commit to the caliber because no one is going to buy it off you. Ammo is not everywhere so it is helpful to be a reloader as those components are plentiful. It was a good-ish idea but probably not enough benefits to have reached critical mass. Buy one because you like it but just know what you're getting into.

They should give you one free, with purchase of 500 rounds of ammo.

size of a glock 17 with the pop of a glock 21. word is that the ammo was plentiful even during the "panic" and the data out there on the OIS where this caliber was used is impressive. 343 dollars shipped for perfection is tempting. I want to find out if Lone Wolf conversion barrels will fit so I guess I'll buy one.

It's the same frame as the 17, but you are correct there aren't any conversions (that I'm aware of) because of the wider slide. Good price if your buying it more for collection sake.

So currently there are 4 people that have given this a thumbs up but no comments. Why would this gun be worth a thumbs up? It is a 45 GAP. As far as I know it can not be converted to any other caliber with a replacement barrel because of the way the frame was made. It is not a standard size frame like the 17 or 22. Also GAP ammo is not all that common as far as I can tell some places are still selling it but have notes that its on clearance and no back orders are available.

Is there something I am missing that makes this a good deal?

There is a conversion kit to 40sw for around $150 available. I got my G37 to replace my PT145 that has been recalled (fires when dropped with safety on). This is my new bedroom safe gun. Mine shows wear but functions fine. It is broken in certainly and has eaten all I've fed it (fmj & hps). It is functional out of the box but for me it's also a bit of a project gun. Night sights glow a little, should be replaced. Grip worn smooth so added a rubber cover. It came with LaserMax boresight laser but needed batteries and a new end cap (+$20).

As far as GAP goes I like the variety in my collection and if you are patient you can pick out deals on ammo from gunbroker. I've found FMJ in the .30-.35 range and HPs from .50-.75. For factory new stuff yeah its in the .40s right now.

For $351 (what I paid last fall) I have no complaints and no malfunctions so far in 200 rnds. I can't guarantee you'll have the same experience or receive the same setup I did. Ymmv...

.45 GAP is a powerful cartridge and readily available online but you will pay for it. Prices start at about 44 cents per round. Personally, I'll stick with .45 ACP for similar ballistics at a much lower price.
