Since I doubt any of us have a supply of 81mm mortar bombs, what other things do these actually prove useful for storing?
I have 3 of them stacked next to each other on a shelf and use it to store large amounts of ammo. These are stationary cans while other 50 cal cans hold ammo for hauling to range, etc. This is a bargain for such a large can.
I have two of the larger ones and they were shipped free.

I bought one for long term storage of the SHTF rounds, holds about 1k rounds of 556 and 7.62x39 (2000 total!) in original packaging. What a great deal!
Mine came with a little surface rust and dirt, which just a warm rag wiped off
