These are solid "budget" 1911's. While it wouldn't be my first choice, but if your looking for a lower priced 1911 I'd take a Turkish built 1911 over the Philippine one. I find the Turks have better quality control, manufacturing facilities and above all they take great pride in their work. I don't have this particular pistol but own sev Turkish pistols and I have been extremely pleased with all of them. So yes I'd buy this over the RIA pistols.
For a long time RIA was using cast and injection molding metals for their guns while Tisas was using mostly forged parts. Forged metals are stronger and more durable. But now after a quick search I see that RIA is forging some components but its not clear other than the slides what other parts are forged. Hopefully a gunsmith with more knowledge will chime in here.
