Made in Turkey, the SDS Imports 1911A1 Service model is a reproduction of the original US Military service pistol with some modern upgrades. This particular model features a black cerakote finish. However, in every other way, including the hammer-forged barrel and original weight, this pistol replicates the original Military issue.45 Government model at a fraction of the price. The pistol features all-steel construction on the frame and slide with a 5" hammer-forged barrel. It also features a cock and lock and grip safety, just like the original. Comes complete with one 7 round mag, cleaning brush, and manual in factory box.

Agree. Good gun at a good price but the overall weight and size makes concealment a bit tough and then you have the low capacity issue along with the old school, hard to see, non adjustable sights.
Why not good for carry? Size or no firing pin drop safety?
Just the size, weight, low capacity and terrible, unadjustable sights. Too many other options available that are better suited for CCW....not that these aren't good guns, lord knows the 1911 has fought many of wars, it's just these are the oldest of old school models.
As posted above it's a heavy gun with a 7 shot mag. It has a manual safety plus the grip safety feature so yo don't need to worry about it going off if dropped.
45 ACP and 5" barrel is the best combination IMO. Good deal on this gun, not a good choice for carry buy fun at the range. Extra mags are about $20
