1. Steel and aluminum are both more expensive materials than plastic.
2. Steel and aluminum are both more expensive to machine than it is to melt and print plastic.
3. There’s a lot more moving parts in this than there are in your average firearm.
4. Economies of scale disadvantage. Also known as the low volume premium. They don’t make near as many of these so they have to charge more in order to make a profit.
5. Do you honestly expect them to sell these at cost?
6. Have you ever made a 3D printed gun? I have and it was not even a Gatling gun. And it’s not as quick or straightforward as you think it is. Time is money when you’re a company. You have to pay a gunsmith to put it together.

Why is this thing is $6000, you can literally 3-D print and build a 556 version for $1200 bucks total. The plans were released online by a company at shot show and are completely free to download.
