SOSS has this gun for $499.99 + $20.99 shipping... saves a little more than $9 off Bud's price. I don't think there are CC fees at SOSS either, so you could end up saving even more.
I picture (in the future) a feature on this site that tags the "model" of a gun (like for this it would be Springfield Armory XDM .40 S&W 4.5" or whatnot) when posting a deal. (Could pick it up automatically based on the link used for the initial post and cross-referenced against an internal database on the gun.deals server/external server holding the data - there are a lot of guns out there but with a community effort we could at least get the most common few hundred that seem to be posted most often and go from there.)
The "model" tag would, once the deal was posted, allow others to see (maybe in the "related" box but preferably in a drop-down menu or something specifically for that exact model) other deals for that same gun. Any deals that weren't up to snuff - like this one here - could easily be weeded out (maybe an option in the "report a problem" saying "This deal is objectively inferior to another," with the option to paste the link of the other posted deal) and the site would be SO much better, I think.
Problems with tax would be avoided with the other idea I suggested - individual dealer pages showing the state of business (and any applicable tax - NOT always the minimum state rate). For this particular deal, Bud's is located in KY and SOSS is in OH, so for anybody NOT in OH the Bud's deal blows.
