With the introduction of their M2.0 line of polymer framed, striker fired pistols, Smith & Wesson addressed the one big complaint that gun buyers had about the M&P line: the trigger. As we’ve mentioned in previous reviews of both the full-size and compact

Never shot the Taurus but I’d buy the shield again and again and again. Good weapon. Good reviews as well. Even my dog has a shield.

I never shot/handle the Taurus but I can say I shoot better with my shield 9 than my P365 and G43X. It’s a really nice and accurate gun. I carry the shield 9 for short runs to gas stations or errands but for long days I carry my p365 or p938 because it's lighter and smaller. The extra weight can be uncomfortable after 5 hours of IWB carry.

Great gun for the price. Do not buy anything from PSA. Their service and quality is a disaster right now...look around you can get the same deal elsewhere.

If you live in Colorado, Scheels sporting stores price match any reputable dealer. $30 FOR transfer fee plus tax. $240 out the door.

Not the best deal when you include $17 shipping; PSA is also including out of state tax now. SMGA currently has best deal with free shipping ($199.99 after rebate)

I’ve ordered from PSA many times and every time I got an email confirmation and email it shipped. It’s also NEVER taken 4-6 weeks! Less than a week every time. My last order was this handgun. I had it in less than a week. Maybesomesompeople her

I dont know why all the bashing of PSA. Yes their shipping is slow, but as the last stated. I always receive a shipped email with tracking number everytime I order. PSA has very legit pricing with my only knock being they have 7 days to ship on firearms and upto 10 days on accessories.

PSA sucks. $17 for shipping is ridiculous and they're slow.

It sounds like you did well and everything worked out for you! I have ordered from them 10-15 times, over the past few years, and have never received an email that my item has/had shipped. With that being said, the last item that I ordered, was the NIB BCG and it did arrive after, about 4-5 days; but again, no shipping notification, email or correspondence from PSA.

I have ordered several guns as well as accessories and ammo. I always received shipping info on the guns and ammo but never on the other stuff. It has always shipped quick for me

Don't know why people keep bashing PSA. Ordered my shield took about 4 maybe 5 days. I'll be picking my gun up Monday. Not even 2 weeks. Ty PSA. I'll be ordering again. This is like my 4th or 5th order. Never any issues.

This is not a bash on PSA as I like to order from them.....my experience has been that you will receive no communication(no email stating if and when your order has shipped). After several weeks, all of a sudden, your item arrives at your house; or arrives at your FFL dealer.

I'm not being a smartass but anyone having email issues might want to make sure PSA has the correct one. As Everytime I order I received info on my purchase.

Sweet gun and good deal. Palmetto takes 4-6 weeks with horrible customer service. So don’t freak out and expect a long wait time

Ordered waiting for my first handgun. Hope this is as good as everyone says it is. I will update upon arrival.

Just don't use it. I have a bodyguard 380 with the safety that I don't think has ever been flipped up.

$250 is a great price, you want to pay a $100 for a gun then buy a hi point.

how is this a deal? whats wrong with all the dumbasses these days? are all the farts from palmetto smell like gold for these dumbasses?
price should continue to fall!

Where are finding these for less than $250? CURRENTLY.

Not a bad price, but I hate how they list this as $249.99, and not $266.99, which is what it costs after shipping. And since you don't get a discount for buying multiple guns or other items, it's a true $266.99.

Now they charge sales tax in some states, including mine. Of course I am not blaming them for that, but between shipping, tax, and the transfer fee, the savings gap gets pretty narrow on a lot of these deals.

This is true, my state is one of those states as well. The deals used to be some really good deals but now Its no real savings.

I've had a Shield for a couple of years now. I bought mine just as the prices started to come down, and I thought I got a good deal at about $300. I'm tempted to buy another one at this price. Great little gun if you're looking for a single stack 9. It has a nice thin profile and fits well in an inside the waistband holster. I've probably fired 500 rounds through mine and it has performed flawlessly. I just took it to the range last Friday and it shot perfectly. Both my buddy and I had acquired new .380s. His is the Sig P238 and mine was the LCP II. Both little guns were accurate enough for what they are designed for, but the Shield easily made a 3" group in the X ring at about 7 yards. I was reminded of how much I like the little gun. You can't go wrong with it.

This vs a Sar9?

SAR 9 is a nice 9mm for the PRICE also but it is not a single stack therefore not a fair comparison.

Hands down the best single stack 9mm for the PRICE out there, so please don't compare to guns that are a $100 + higher cuz we already know that a $500 SIG p365 is better but the only significant difference will be an extra $250 coming out of your wallet and you will win a lot fashion shows at the range!

Had a Shield for a while and never had a malfunction. It was reliable like the M&Pc I also had but Smith and Wesson send those out with trash triggers. I have not purchased any pistols with triggers that rough and gritty. Another problem with the Shield is that it was small in capacity but did not conceal as well as even larger pistols-never could wrap my mind around that. Ended up selling the Shield and replaced it. Buddy that bought it from me is enjoying the Shield and I've never missed it. Cheap and reliable protection but definitely not without a few flaws.

Re: the sear deactivation lever.
My wife bought me a Shield 9 mm for Christmas 2017.
On the second trip to the range the sear deactivation lever broke.
S&W paid to have it shipped and repaired - it was gone for a month.
I've heard you don't actually need the deactivation lever but it's the principle - a new gun shouldn't break.
Google the sear deactivation lever and you'll find it's a common problem with Shields.
It's the only issue I have ever had with a S&W.

Anyone get one today (3-13-18) for the advertised price of $249 or did we all just get trolled and update our email addresses so we could be "emailed" when they're back in stock... at a higher price no doubt.

I would not grade any guns perfect. But I love this pistol. It's really tight fit. It fitter than any of my metal guns. Even mags fit

I bought this for $225 after rebate last summer. Not a great deal unless it’s the M2.0

I paid $199 after rebate for my 1st gen. I miss the good times.

Either post a link to your time machine so we can all go back to last summer or post a link to a better price. S&W was offering really good incentives then, but aren't now. As such, the prices are higher.

Best dang gun I ever bought, extremely accurate with no failures

If this is the best gun you ever bought than you must like shitty guns. They are ok for a cheap plastic mass produced gun. I've shot one a couple times. Fit and finish is ok and trigger is garbage. We do sell a lot of them at my shop and I hear they are somewhat reliable but not my cup of tea.

Your opinion is garbage! I find it funny that about 9 out of 10 shooters love this gun for the feel, accuracy, and the price! Lol.Their has also been many comparisons toward the Glock 43 and everyone favored the Smith! You might need to remove the herb(marijuana) from your cup of tea,lol
