I was actually considering buying one of these until I found out they are pretty much all polymer. Upper, lower, handguards, even the charging handle are all plastic. I just can't get on board with these all polymer carbines. The small weight savings doesn't make that big of a difference to me. If it was just the lower and handguard, I could probably consider it. Maybe I am just too old school? Lol
Not judging anyone who owns one or buys one, Just my personal opinion.

I own a S&W 15-22 and my main complaint about it is all of the polymer components. It feels cheap, like a toy. I think I could snap it over my knee if I really wanted to.

A friend of mine just bought a Response, and having handled and shot it a couple times now, I can confirm it feels MUCH more solid than my 15-22. Not all "polymer" is the same. The Response is a much more solidly built weapon overall, and I don't feel like the plastic takes anything away from it, whereas on the 15-22 I do (the lower receiver and the safety are my biggest gripes, the handguard isn't much better.) The Response also comes with a nice stock, an awesome grip, and a decent trigger. I don't think it's a bad buy at all, it really is a good out of the box shooter that doesn't need anything other than an optic.

Can you get a metal AR-V for not much more? Sure. Do I think an out of the box AR-V is hands down better than the Response? Not really, no.
