he original P226-XFive was a high-end target pistol made by the expert gunsmiths at Sig Sauer's Master Shop in Germany. For the past two decades, these handguns had a reputation for accuracy and excellent triggers, but were unfortunately nearly impossible to obtain in the United States. Now, Sig Sauer brings this legendary handgun back with all the same features of the original, as well as a wide array of modern enhancements. Just like the original, the P226-XFive's trigger offers an exceptionally light, crisp, and clean pull with a fast reset to make follow-up shots instantaneous. This trigger features an innovative “3-position” design, and can be finely tuned for pull length, pull weight, over travel, and reset, allowing the user to customize the trigger to their preferences. The P226-XFive's frame is based off a standard P226 SAO, but features a “sport takedown” lever which can serve as a handy thumb rest for right handed shooters, and allows the weapon to be quickly disassembled for cleaning after extensive shooting sessions at the range. The frame is equipped with a 1913 accessory rail for a tactical light/laser, and is considerably larger than the standard P226 to help absorb recoil. Recoil is reduced even further thanks to a 5-inch bull barrel, which also promotes greater accuracy. Other features of the P226-XFive include a high-visibility fiber-optic front sight as well an adjustable Dawson-style rear sight plate – the sight plate is removable, and can be replaced with a direct mount Romeo1 Pro, Romeo2, or any other micro red dot that utilizes the standard PRO foot print. In addition, the P226-XFive is outfitted with custom Hogue H10 Piranha Grips for superior ergonomics and shooting comfort.
