This offering features a variety of plates manufactured under the “Levels” naming system. The Level III rating is rated to stop 7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at a velocity of up to 2,750 FPS. Our Level III plates go the extra mile and also stop 5.56mm M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at a velocity of 2,750 FPS. The Level III+ rating is tested to defeat both .308 and Green Tip threats: 7.62x51 M80 Ball at 3,000 FPS (+/- 30FPS), 5.56x45 M193, 5.56x45 M855/SS109 at 3,100 FPS (+/- 30FPS), and 7.62x39 (i.e. AK-47). The Level III+ LW rating is also tested to defeat both .308 and Green Tip threats: 5.56x45mm M193, 5.56x45mm M855/SS109 at 3,000 FPS as well as AK-47 rounds (7.62x39mm) and .308 (7.62x51mm M80 NATO Ball) at 2,850 FPS. The 6x6 size is recommended for users between the height range of 5’ 4” and 6’ 3”, whereas those larger than 6’3” are likely to benefit from the 6x8 plates. These plates are compatible with any carrier that accepts side plates. As they are from storage, they have an estimated 18 years left on their shelf-life.
