Thanks roof. Seems like alot of vendors are having trouble keeping these in stock. I guess I need to set a price alert and stock up IF they drop. Value prices, value pack gun; magazines not so much ... 33% of the price of the kit.
The slide for the SOCOM and Sport look the same. Do you know if the threaded SOCOM barrel can be swapped and the Sport can compatible?
Again, have seen so many great reviews and comments. Surprised at how many people bought multiples of the same gun. Sounds like it will be a good gun to put in the hands of new shooters, and a capable gun for experienced.
Tex-You can register on the sarusa site for price drops on the mags. Also, If you're handy with a dremel you can modify Sig P320 mags to fit. I've done that and have never had a failure but I still only use those on the range. Surplus P320 mags are dirt cheap right now. Search Youtube for how to modify them. The clearance prices you are seeing across the board on the SAR9 models are all Gen2s. Once they're gone they're gone. The slides and barrels are not compatible between the SOCOM and Sport models. Also, this model does not have an optic cut but contrary to what is listed here the Cabela's site pics and description clearly states the slide is drilled and tapped for RMSc red dots. The UPC listed confirms this. Not as sleek and efficient as an optic cut but better than a plain Jane slide. IMHO
Place the order online and have it shipped to your local BPS/Cabelas. That is what I did - it only took them 2 days to get it to the BPS store and now I just need to drive down to BPS and pick it up. Easy peasy!

Too bad this is online only or I could just make a short drive and pick it up. Not a big fan of the gun not being optic ready but the price reflects that so that's another thing to think about.
It is technically "optics ready" but not in the more common way with simple drilled and tapped slide vs an actual cut in the slide. Yes it's a bit janky but it does work for average use. However, if your looking for the traditional optics cut models, the new generation of the SAR9 pistols now have such a traditional cut slide. It's nice to see a manufacturer listening to its customers. Excellent pistols, excellent price and if I didn't already have so many SAR9 pistols, Id buy this one. I can't say enough good things about the SAR lineup of firearms.
Damn here we go again, another slam dunk deal for one of the finest striker fired pistols on the market today! As most in the know, have already experienced the great pistols of the SAR9 lineup pistols. Rock solid reliability, accuracy better than most are even capable of, a decent trigger and some of the best and versatile ergonomics available. I carried a H&K VP9 for many years because of the ergonomics and ability to customize them with extra side panels and various grip sizes. In my opinion, the ergos are just as good as my VP9 and VERY similar. As sad as it is, I have to admit that I have actually found that these SAR9 pistols are actually a bit more accurate and a bit less snap while putting lead down range. These guns are tested and proven to be so good that many police forces and militaries around the world are now carrying various versions of the SAR9. At the price I promise you that you will absolutely be thrilled with your purchase. You honestly will feel like you stole the pistol! Seriously!
Livin-Ditto on everything you said. I bought my SAR9 the same time you bought your first one back when PSA was running the $50.00 rebate. I've put 1,000s of rounds through it with every sort of ammo without a hiccup. To be fair though I did swap out the guide rod assembly for a stainless steel one from Galloway.
