I've had the regular black SAR9 for a couple of years, and it's as surprisingly good gun. Along with Canik, it's a stunning value and just WORKS for $199. better than the S&W SD9ve or other guns in the price range, it shoots better and feels better than it has any right to be.
Out Of Stock now! I was going to grab one of these considering the mags are only about $10 more than the Glock mags and I think i will just leave the optics off and rely on the iron sights. The manual thumb safety is another feature I like on this model.
I really like the look of the Safari model and it's still just $200. What is a little confusing is that it has SAR 9 METE on the slide but doesn't look like it is optic ready. Not sure what an optic would look like with the more angle cut slide anyway, might be blocky and a place for the pistol to grab on to clothing when drawing. Might give PSA a call or maybe Livinitup1976 can chime in if he is familiar with this model.

So there are some models of the METE version itself that are not optics ready and it appears this is one. The METE is a bit lighter and has the cut down slide and front serrations. The METE also comes with a full array of grip panels unlike some of the regular models that only have one grip panel replacement . I think the last difference is these have adjustable rear sights. I could be wrong on that one but I remember hearing something about that.
Above all if someone is just looking for a great carry gun then this will fit the bill and you'll be surprised how well these shoot. This price is crazy, in a good way!
I see it's back to $199 now lol. You have to be quick with PSA, I think having several retail stores screws up their inventory, like right now it shows out of stock at all of them. I agree the price is crazy but we can all be thankful that just about anybody could arm themselves for $199
