Love RUGER guns.

But the hideous RUGER white letter branding kills it for me at any price. Looks cheesy.

All of the marketing pictures hide it.

You don’t know what your talking about. That’s Smith and awesome M&P sport 2s

Are you referring to the sticker on the barrel that you take off before you shoot? Mine has no white lettering on it.

Love mine. Stock guns could always use a better trigger but this is a quality AR.

I'm going to buy me one, but waiting to get a deal around $450. I should have bought one over the holidays when they were that price.

$499.99 for non members. If you have not been a member recently you can add the 30 day free trial to your cart, check out, then cancel the membership right afterwards. I did this on Thursday for a Taurus PT-92 and they even shipped it same day!

Great gun at super pricing! Sure you could wait and probably catch it 30-40 bucks cheaper but saving a fortune on ammo these days!

Can you get the front sight off now to replace it with a low profile gas block? I know people had a lot of trouble when these came out getting rid of that front site for optics.

Thanks

I got one about $40 bucks cheaper recently but an all around great rifle even at this price. You get a lot of gun for your money and it's certainly better than all introductory level AR's. Lifetime warranty too. Ruger are great American people and guns!

I know chainsaw bayonets exist but it's a novelty item nobody would ever use seriously. Funny you wrongly assume I'm ignorant and angry when I'm informed and laughing. Anyway chainsaw bayonet , soon to be the most popular meme on twitter

I am pretty sure that bump fire stocks were billed as a "novelty item nobody would ever use seriously" until Las Vegas.

2 votes

Why are you on here FF?

1 vote
1 vote

Oh no, they were very clearly advertised as exactly what they were.....in fact most over-promised, under-performed and were overpriced, unnecessary pieces of shite! Even the libturd on 60 Mins was able to get auto fire bursts on first try via pull technique. It's not hard and you don't need some crappy mod.

2 votes
0 votes

So some untrained libturd was able to get full auto yet they are under performing? Make up your mind sweetie.

Yes, the MANUFACTURERS billed them as the greatest thing since sliced bread as that's the only way to sell a product, as did the people who premiered the chainsaw bayonet at Shot Show. (Wasn't CNN just in case you're confused). The rest of the gun world thinks both are just novelty items. You really cherry-pick information for your own benefit...

Another idiot & queer LIBTARD w/o reading comprehension skills getting his/her/it's exercise jumping to conclusions! The LIBTARD on 60 Min's had no mod's (a bump stock for impaired folks like yourself) and achieved full auto burst fire just by the way he handled the weapon.

Maybe try explaining yourself better than a person with an IQ of 70/high school dropout/some one who can only come up with the insult of queer and libtard. Remember not everybody have seen this YouTube video which seems to form your very narrow and specific worldview. BTW, good luck hitting anything with your AR at waist level when using the "pull technique." I am sure you'll hit the broadside of a barn at 10 yards at least once per mag. Honestly it sounds like you are just buttsore that you cannot afford a bump fire stock.....

IMBECILE - no one said anything about a YouTube video. You're too stupid to argue with.

That $hithole WooHoo2You has to argue with everyone. Seems like every other post I go to da f#ck is arguing with someone...or some people. I quit reading his $hit long ago. Thank the Olympian Greek Goddesses SD/GD puts his name at the beginning of the posts so I don't waste time reading absolute $hit. The funny thing is he keeps replying to my posts! Must really piss him off knowing he is wasting his 'valuable' time. (smh)

Your life must be really empty that you spend your days trolling me…writing entire paragraphs about how you don’t read my posts….yet you write paragraphs?!? Yeah, you’re fooling us.

Still waiting on a gun related comment from you…

Sweetheart, where did you see the 60 minutes video clip? I highly doubt you watched it live as you do not seem to be the type of person who would ever view such a 'bias source.' Oh yeah, youtube....unless you ordered the box set? FYI, I do not have to be told vegetables come from a farm but can piece together the logical sequence of events without being spoon fed info like some brain-dead idiot who thinks copy and pasting "LIBTARD" in every other sentence counts as a discussion.

Stupid people must grow on trees.

USA Today claims a chainsaw bayonette is an accessory for the ruger 556. Look it up for a good laugh.

So you think that it's honest to portray to the unknowing general public that a "chainsaw bayonet" is as prevalent and commonplace as an adjustable stock or a handguard?

As "honest" as portraying a single video out of hundreds of thousands as evidence of some evil agenda. Huh.....

I have two of them. They are great to shoot with whatever ammo you want. The one thing that I noticed with both of mine were that MFT magazines weren't a good fit and would double feed.

Man, things just keep getting better. WooHoo keep up the good work.

The Ruger has a hammer forged barrel, a machined (not cast) front sight & doesn't have that stupid grenade launcher barrel cut. The rear handguard rear ring is threaded so IMHO it's a step up from the S&W.

These were almost $500 before the antigun Trump was elected!!! This is obviously a trend sparked by public sentiment of his antigun comments in the past and the echoing of the fear from your average hard working American about his constitution stomping policies. If this isn't proof enough of him planning to take our guns you are probably some leftist commie who eats kale.....(insert 3 more paragraphs of jibber jabber direct from some nut job blog)

Typically altered means switching anything out. I.E. The handguard. Someone also mentioned steel voiding warrenty. Most AR manufactures will have this policy. With that said I did have an issue with my Windham weaponry AR which has over a 1000 rounds of cheap steal through it and they did not ask any questions when it went in for warrenty work. I've also worked with Aero Precision and HeadDown firearms and they were awesome as well!! No questions asked and paid to have AR's sent back then quickly turned them around in days. Headdown even over nighted the AR to their headquarters and back to me overnight as I needed the AR for competition. They are hands down the best company I've ever worked with period!!! But Aero and Windham are no joke and probably the best "entry" or "mid" level manufacture I've worked with. Headdown AR's are not in the same class so you will pay more for them which is partly why they will go to any length to ensure every client is happy. Radical firearms is ok as had some questions about a 7.62x39 AR I picked. Kind of slow response and not very helpful. I'm actually working with Hardened Arms right now as well on something and so far so good.... Just some feedback on my recent experiences... Hope this helps...

Would this be a good start rifle to get at this price? I missed the aero precision ac-15 $599 deal and would like to get my hands on an ar15 before the panic buys begin.

Great Gun at a decent price! 1:8 barrel will shoot most anything. It doesn't like steel cased ammo per the Ruger phone rep. Get your AR now before they're $800-$1000! And the 4 pay... that's a sweet way to get into an AR if you're a little strapped but want an AR before the election (God forbid if Crooked Hillary wins). FYI... This AR carries no written warranty. BUT, I spoke to Ruger and the lady said that they have a lifetime warranty as long as the gun isn't altered. What's up with that? No written warranty? Must be some legal reasons such as protecting themselves from frivolous lawsuits.

"No written warranty?"

Goes back to the day when American companies stood behind their products without needing lawyers to complicate things. If it breaks they will fix it. Not un-common with gun manufacturers.

As for "altering" ....don't do stupid crap like drilling holes into receiver and other hack jobs. If you put on other furniture or paint/hydro work you'll be fine.
