Tempted to get this and wait the 9mm barrel conversion to come back in stock. Just wish it was the tactical version with the front rail and an optic cut slide.

hmm May have to bute on this one. Been wanting to check out a 10mm 1911 for awhile now. Seems a solid deal, does anyone have one theyd wanna share their experience? opinion? I know Rock Island really stepped up their game over the past 4-5 years. 16 rounds of 10mm fury sounds appealing!

Picked one of these up a year or so ago for about $650. Overall really happy with it. The only major complaint I have is that it doesn't like to cycle underpowered ammo. A lot of cheap target shooting ammo is loaded to 40 S&W pressure levels to cut costs and reduce recoil, but the gun would short stroke and fail to chamber rounds when using that ammo. I found that underwood's full power "FMJ Hunting Ammo" worked great without being too much more expensive than normal target shooting loads. That said, I haven't put a ton of rounds through it, Maybe 400 or so, so it probably just needs some more breaking in. Overall it's a great gun and a hell of a lot of fun to shoot if you like your gun to have some kick. Just make sure for your break-in period you buy full power loads like these: https://www.underwoodammo.com/10mm-auto-155-grain-full-metal-jacket.html...

Bought one at my local Sportsman's Warehouse about 2 weeks ago. Paid $669 plus tax. Nice firearm but beware, the grip on this is huge and I mean huge. There's a price to pay for carrying 16 rounds of 10mm. My hands are just barely large enough to comfortably handle and shoot this beast. It seems well made. Just know you'll need a paperclip or tool to remove the barrel for cleaning. When I received mine it must have been dipped in a vat of oil. It was so messy the gun counter guy had to go get a rag just to handle it. It was literally soaking in oil. I guess RIA wanted to make sure there was no possibility of rust from the trip over on the boat from the Philippines.

I owned the basic GI model 1911 from RIA and did a range test or their 22 TCM 1911 on my YouTube channel and they were both solid pistols. I’d buy this 10mm if I were in the market for one.
