had one when they 1st came out with the 22TMC barrel combo. had to send it back to RIA 3 times for various problems. ended up selling it because of all the issues, fail to feed, fail to fire, fail to eject, slide releasing when mag inserted, tried 4 different mags. gun is a pos.
I have the 10mm version and have never had any issues with it at all. I've put every kind of ammo I can find through it and it eats it like nothing. I do wish the 10mm was a tad lighter, though. Having a 16 round DS in 10mm adds some heft.
Would you trust it for bear defense over / on par with g20/g29/xdm elite 10mm and other top and most reliable 10mm?
How many rounds did you run over it?
If your considering this exact pistol for *bear defense " I'd advise you to reconsider. 9mm is no where near enough firepower to safely neutralize a charging bear. Now in 10mm it is a bit better but depending upon what type bear your concerned about would be a huge factor when deciding on what type/size" ammo you'd need. Do some homework on the subject so you understand expectations and real world experiences of others who needed a reliable, accurate bear defense pistol with matching rounds. Lots of information online over this subject. Good luck!
Good price and a very nice pistol. If you like 1911's this is definitely a steal!

I obviously meant 10mm.
" Do some homework" - thank you for your care, done more than enough, I can give lectures on the subject - but not doing so when not asked to help.
Now back to my question - I asked the original post author about his experience with this particular (but in 10mm) model and its reliability. I haven't requested any other information.
