Why they have 2 extra inches of barrel and no threading for a brake with styling like this???
Uh, because being a bullpup it still has a 27"? 28"? (I forget) minimum length requirement to prevent it being an SBS & unable to be imported? [Thanks to that F!ckin useless 922r regs...] And being a shotgun, it's *internally* threaded for choke tubes, so that last 3" if barrel is where they hide them. They make lockbuster muzzle brakes that use the choke tube threads for shotties, if that's where you're going with this...
Yeah but that doesn't make sense given that it's already 40 in long so it's not missing any minimum length requirement by a long shot.
I'll stick with my KSG or wait till the IWI comes down a little in price
I see what you're saying now [hadn't looked that closely at it; only passing interest since box-mag semi-auto shotties are "verboten AW"s behind the Granola Curtain] and can only surmise that it's a multiple-market product and while shotguns have an 18" barrel length minimum stateside, it's longer in Canuckistan & other locales where this might be sold. I guess the U.S. market is deemed too small to justify making up a U.S.-specific barrel? Or maybe they can't be bothered to segregate the U.S.-bound product from the others in the manf's. warehouse? Dunno, but it's likely something along those lines.It's still enough shorter than a traditional shotgun w/ 18" barrel that I don't think it suffers much in comparison, handling-wise... :-)
