Engineered for excellence, this barrel boasts a 1:7 twist rate, ensuring pinpoint accuracy and stability with a wide range of ammunition types.
Barrel: A proprietary blend of Hammer forged chrome molly vanadium made by FN that is referred to as "Machine Gun Steel" by virtue of its use in FN's M249 and M240 weapons. The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable. In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1:7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a mid-length gas system. The special A2 light profile barrel allows for better balance and portability over the standard A2 profile and is Mil-spec phosphate coated. The barrel is High-pressure tested, and Magnetic Particle inspected, to ensure quality and dependability, and is finished off with a PSA 13.5" M-lok Billet Rail, .750" low-profile gas block, and a pinned and welded A2 flash hider. The pinning and welding make the flash hider a permanent part of the barrel which brings it to the legal length.
Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is made to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized black for durability. Featuring machined T marks, and a mil-spec finish. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer.

Does anyone know if this is a FN barrel ?
Blah, should have hit the more info button....it is a FN barrel.
No bolt group or charging handle makes this not such a deal.

Yes, all PSA CHF barrels for AR platform are confirmed to be made by FN.
I bought this upper last year. I've shot a few thousand rounds. It's accurate and light. I paid 369. I think 319 is a great deal.
Who pins and welds anymore? The 16" is 399$ so I guess they knock 30$ off for the hour of your time you'll spend making it right.
It's pinned and welded because without that the barrel would be under 16" and be considered an NFA item unless it's made as a "pistol" with a brace.
Sort of yes, sort of no.
You can have an upper with a barrel less than 16” overall without having a matching lower. You’re not required to complete NFA paperwork for an upper. But the moment you strap that upper onto a completed lower with a stick, you’d better have approved NFA paperwork.
To your point, you could also strap that same upper on a registered pistol lower.
Otherwise, you’re playing with a felony.
I mean, I'd love to have a pin and weld 14.x". I live too close to a state line to look forward to annual permission slips from ATF and I've yet to handle enough pistol versions to fully embrace them.
