Osight olight and all the rest suck ass. Buy the original Maglite and some duct tape. Make sure it's the super long heavy one with the D batteries. Made in USA..... I think

Deal gone. Went to buy one this morning and it's back to $199

If you use suppressor-height sights, the "charging cover" will not be able to seat properly and charge the optic. The cutout on the back of the cover is only tall enough for normal-sized sights.

That is a very valid concern you bring up but that isn't going to be the case with all firearms as the optic's plates vs iron sights could be in different places / spacing depending on the actual pistol (some iron's are even forward of the optic's plate, many PSA Daggers have this config). Also some slides require the use of an adapter where other's allow the red dot to mount directly to the slide*. For example my Canik allows doesn't require a plate for a RMS red dot but my Shield does so the same RD fits differently on two VERY similar guns.

*even sitting a little recessed which may also interfere with the charger.

Again, your concern is very valid and something that should be considered.

Regardless, I'd personally rather a RD that has standard batteries which last for 30,000 hours / shake awake / etc so I don't have to be bothered with charging or a Li-ion battery which will require replacement....and said replacement may not be a standard battery formfactor. Not to mention many smaller devices have batteries soldered in place so replacing may actually take a little skill.

Chinese garbage just like the rest of their product line. Does this model explode too?

Said while posting the comment using a "Chinese garbage" device. The irony. And yes, Olight is the same "gArBaGe" as whatever phone / laptop / tablet you used.

Google "(Samsung / Apple / random laptop brand) charger fire"

Sorry to break it to you kiddo.

If you can’t differentiate Chinese garbage from a fully functional, Chinese made iPhone, I can’t help you… but for the sake of humanity, I’ll try to break it down further, not all Chinese products are garbage, but olight is a shit company that paid for positive reviews when they hit the market. Their products tend to explode more than others (and get hotter than hell), they are garbage. I’ve owned a multitude of lights, brands, etc. and will never buy another olight for that reason. I choose to buy quality products (regardless of country of origin) rather than save $ just to buy another when it fails. To each their own.

You mean like the "fully functional" iPhones that have burned down houses because of their "fully functional" chargers and / or batteries catching fire? That is not close enough to tEnD To eXpLoDe for ya? Only a dozen class action lawsuits and recalls because of the repeated problems over the last decade and a half.

But yes, Olight is kinda shit. As are many Apple products...but the fan boys with the rock hard dicks skew both sets of ratings....but you wouldn't know anything about that would ya? You'd need an internal voice of reason to see past the blind brand acceptance / hatred that has been programmed into you. Sorry kiddo, I can't break it down further if that still confuses you. For the sake of humanity stop getting your world view spoon fed to you from bumper stickers and reddit. "Educate yourself"...don't let a rando on youtube tell you want to think about a product you've never touched.

P.S. Feel free to have the last world (from your chinese made device). Seems like you need that bit of dopamine.

You’ve got issues, my guy. Good luck with those Olights.

You’ve got issues, my guy. Good luck with those complaining about using a "Chinese garbage" device...while using a "Chinese garbage" device to do so.

Sorry my guy, you painted yourself in that corner...or don't you "read (your own writing) well?"

LOL

If you can’t differentiate the quality of an iPhone and this garbage, I can’t help you.

Keep trolling.

Said the guy who keeps falling back on the same "If you can’t differentiate"...."I can’t help you" argument because you cannot articulate an actual rebuttal. And haven't iPhones burnt down plenty of houses? Wait...wasn't that your other idiotic talking point? "Google exploding iphone and educate yourself." (sound familiar?) LOL...can't make this stuff up.

Sorry kiddo but your "cHiNa BaD" line in the sand has failed almost as hard as your attempts at trolling. See you in 5 minutes so you can copy and paste another unoriginal opinion sourced from reddit.

I hate to break it to you but 80% of the stuff u own is made in garbage china. Probably throw them out before they explode.

You apparently don’t read well. Olight is Chinese garbage. The Chinese products I own aren’t garbage. If they were, I’d toss them and buy something else.

Google “exploding olight” and educate yourself.

A guy who calls himself "voice of reason" is negatively rating products that he has not tried/does not own and then argues with people about the same products he doesn't own. Could we get a moderator to sort out these retards?

Surefires have had problems too. https://photonphreaks.com/exploding-flashlights-and-how-to-prevent-it/... I buy this explanation being the likely reason for the Olight explosion. More recently they did a recall on one of their EDC lights also because of hot CR123A batteries, but FWIW I'd trust an Olight more than a Sig P320 as far as potential safety risks.

That said, I would only buy an Osight if it was cheap enough that I wasn't worried about it dying or loosing zero on me, like the cheap Bushnell red-dots I used to purchase (even now their improved versions cost too much). It makes no sense to buy an untried and untested red dot that costs more than other very reliable, reasonably priced versions with great warranties and good customer service.
