Description
The Pug is a single-action, five-shot, all steel revolver. Actually, that statement is true of just about all of the NAA offerings. The compelling feature of these revolvers is how very small they are. If you absolutely, positively cannot carry anything else, you can probably find room for a NAA mini-revolver.
Squat and sturdy like it's namesake dog, the NAA Pug is chambered in 22 Magnum, sports a 1" ported barrel and is just 2.75" tall. This stocky companion will deliver a bite even worse than his bark from the 5-shot cylinder. A slightly over-sized pebble-textured rubber grip enables the handler to keep a firm grip. Using the half-way notch cylinder, the hammer may rest safely and securely away from live or empty chambers without chance of accidental discharge.

I certainly don't think that someone could take a round to the chest as you say but I do know, and is easily fact checked online is the fact that a .22 round coming out of this tiny 1" barrel DOES NOT gain enough energy and velocity to be a viable, lethal, self defense pistol. The small barrel has been proven to cause accuracy and keyholing issues. Even if this was a viable round, the size, design and capacity do not make it a good choice as a self defense pistol. It is hard enough to get on target under extreme stress, anxiety and fear with a standard semi auto pistol, let alone fumbling around trying to get on target with this gun. Then being able make what would take miraculous shots to completely stop an attacker. It is rare that a suspect is completely dropped and killed with a single self defense shot of a higher caliber round like a 9mm. Most time it takes several rounds to completely stop the attacker. Heaven forbid you are being attacked by multiple people. Good luck stopping them with 5 under powered .22mag rounds out of this pistol. Especially if the distances are over 5 meters..
I am not saying that these don't have some value to certain folks. Is it better than nothing? Sure, is it highly concealable? Sure. Would it make a good "last stand" backup pistol like in an ankle holster and for using point blank? Sure. Could just someone pulling the gun on a threat cause then to think twice? Ok...
I make no qualms about my opinion and experience as a firearms instructor.
The main issue I have above everything thing else, good or bad, is companies marketing these as "Self defense" pistols.
I am not trying to sway anyone for buying this gun. It's America and everyone has their choice to do so as well as to disagree or have a different opinion.
Ok tough guy. Video yourself taking one from this ineffective pistol and then tell us how ineffective it is. Otherwise you’re just another mall ninja.
You don’t even understand the point of these little guns. Of course no one would argue that carrying a small 380 or small 9 mm wouldn’t be more effective. But there are plenty of videos online of people shooting these into ballistic gel and, while they don’t open up, they penetrate over 14 inches. Go ahead and take one and tell us how it doesn’t hurt or it doesn’t make you want to continue the fight.
The point of these guns is to have something as a back up or when you can’t carry anything larger and it’s really your only option. You uber leet mall cops just don’t get it. You’ve gotta have your big 9 mm with your Uber leet optics lol. You crack me up.
And it's ported?? So, whether the rifling is the full-length or stops before the ports - you're getting 0.5" of useable rifling...yeah no keyholing issues here.
I think some of the longer barrel NAA models are OK as maybe pocket snake/aggressive dog while jogging guns (although there's better options for both) - but, what is this even for?
Yeah anyone who is not acknowledging the fact this particular model is just a conversation piece over a real, useable self defense weapon. A .22 mag round out of these super short barrels simply fall on their face when fired. Plenty of videos out there showing the keyholing issues along with an absolute lack of accuracy and speed. At best, brandishing the pistol at an attacker MIGHT scare them away. Or they will just laugh at you? Lol.
All jokes aside though these are just unsafe, unwieldy and inaccurate revolvers. There is very few niche markets that might make use of this revolver. And this is only achieved because it holds 5 rounds.

always hilarious to read comments from the armchair bad a$$es that seem to think they could take a 22 mag to the chest and laugh it off as "too short a barrel" lmao.
