I agree you can do much better for less money. You can buy the Ruger LCP .380 for a $100 less and have a much more controllable gun with more firepower. I still carry my Kel-Tec P32 that I bought years ago once in awhile during hot summer months. Another better option to this for less money.
It's a pocket pistol and it's deadly up close. What's so hard to understand?
Why the hell would someone carry these for self defense? I mean the ballistics themselves are TERRIBLE. It's my professional opinion that the length of this barrel, underpowered 22 round and the super tough ergonomics trying to get a grip and hit your target, is a no go. For $300 you can buy several different micro compact pistols that would give you a much better chance of defending yourself. These are nothing more than paperweights and or conversation piece.
Now I understand getting shot with this would definitely hurt like hell but not enough to stop an attacker hell bent on causing you harm, especially if they are amped up on adrenaline and or drugs. So yeah, I would suggest you find something more suited and above all this, TRAIN, TRAIN TRAIN! No pistol is going to be useful to you unless you are completely comfortable and well trained to use it safely and properly.
