Kyle rhittenhouse proved that we do actually need the foreword assist.

It’s been proven over and over that the forward assist isn’t necessary. Eugene Stoner would have included it in his design if it were. If your bcg won’t go back into battery, then the lack of a forward assist should be the least of your worries.

Any traditional use case for forward assist being “necessary” typically results in a recipe for malfunctions.

BUT, I do agree with the support case for forward assist being the capability to slowly advance the charging handle and bolt when silence is needed and then using the forward assist to ensure the bolt is fully seated. I have needed to do this on occasion with my 350 legend when whitetail hunting and forgetting to chamber a round. I could see similar needs in a defensive scenario where silence is golden.

I bought one of these and the color did not match my aero lower. But nonetheless, it was a good price point. Machining marks were okay.
