If you're interested and live near a Dunham's Sports I saw the threaded barrel model on sale for $199.00 while in Fort Wayne, IN today. The manager said it was on sale at select stores only. Also, Nic Taylor makes a 16 round magazine conversion kit for $25.00. I'll stick with my TX22. The value of my TX22 is increasing almost as fast as a gallon of gas right now.
I wonder if these run reliably? In the past, I've found very few semi auto 22 pistols that run worth a crap. Most have had issues with feeding and ejecting. Most are extremely picky when it comes to ammo, only liking the high power rounds like CCI mini mags. Fast forward to today and Taurus hit a home run with their tx22. Now this is about $100-$125 less than the tx22 but if it runs somewhat reliably, it's a good deal. Time to go check some reviews.
While it's that much cheaper, you're pretty much stuck with what it is. No threaded barrel and no easy option to get one. No optic option. Mag is limited to 10 rounds and to get extra mags you might as well get the TX22 with 5 mags and optics ready. Plus more aftermarket support.
I have this exact piece. Feels excellent in your hand.
Things of note:
It's the same design as the Sig Mosquito and GSG Firefly. I got a used Firefly mag to pair.
You eat 10 rounds of magazine capacity in no time. Great gun to introduce someone to shooting.
IMPOSSIBLE to find aftermarket barrels. If you need threaded, get it at the time of purchase. Getting a barrel is impossible.
