If you’ve been craving a Rick Hinderer knife, but couldn’t quite part with the bucks, your last excuse has just disappeared. The Cryo is the result of collaboration between Rick Hinderer and the design and production engineers at Kershaw. And we’re sure it will satisfy both your Hinderer craving and the demands of your wallet. A classic Rick Hinderer design, the Cryo is built of pure stainless steel coated with matte grey titanium carbo-nitride for a no-fuss look that lets the design shine through. Like all Rick’s knives, the Cryo benefits from Rick’s real world experience as a fire fighter and EMT. It’s designed to be a sturdy knife that’s still aesthetically pleasing and feels good in the hand. For secure blade lock up, the Cryo offers a tough frame lock with lockbar stabilization. The Cryo also features Kershaw’s SpeedSafe assisted opening for fast and easy one-handed opening. Access it with either the built-in flipper or the thumbstud. Slightly smaller than some Hinderer pocketknives, the Cryo is a superb knife for every day carry. EDC this guy for a while and we think you’ll soon appreciate its virtues. You get the tactical, hard-use looks you’re looking for, a Hinderer design, and SpeedSafe opening in this amazingly affordable Kershaw that’s destined to be the Hinderer for the rest of us.

Love this knife. Got it for $18 shipped when this deal was active. Wish I'd bought 2 more at that price.

My spring assist broke on this knife, one email to kershaw and they had a replacement spring in the mail in less than 3 days.

Im fairly impressed with the knife itself, it comes from the factory sharp-ish. Resharpens well and holds a good edge. There is no detent to hold this knife closed when the spring assist breaks, so be aware of that.

All in all, ive really enjoyed this knife, its a great size that can be carried comfortably in almost any clothing

I have one, if you plan on using it daily be aware that the spring assist mechanism will fail. Mine failed in less than a year. Otherwise this knife is decent and hold an edge fairly well. I dont know that I would buy a second one knowing that the first no longer has spring assist. The screws that hold the knife together are not standard hex headed screws.

My fav EDC blade. Especially for the price. By no means heavy duty but sharpens nicely and have been carrying mine for well over a year. Handy little guy and is perfect for a one blade EDC setup (a bit on the heavy side). Find it in my pocket more often than not.

I loved mine until the blade chipped while whittling a redwood branch. Mine was made in china. Not worth it IMHO.

Good knife. I have two. Blade may be too short for some. The Cryo II is $30 on amazon and has a 3 3/8" blade vs. the Cryo's 2 3/4"

$25 with free shipping is a good deal but the price listed now is $28 with free shipping at $35 total. Am I missing something or is this old?
