SAR USA SAR9SPTBL : The SAR9 Sport rewards its users with outstanding performance, making it a first choice for IDPA and USPSA competitors or for plinking with friends at the range. The Sport comes standard with a slightly longer forged steel slide with cooling ports and a lightweight black polymer frame. Other features include a forged steel barrel, stainless steel frame assembly, enhanced trigger guard, striker status indicator, changeable left or right magazine release button and an extremely ergonomic grip design to absorb recoil. Features 1-17 and 1- 19 rounds mag.

Agree. This is my ONLY gripe about these great pistols. Not sure why they chose this cheap way out on their first couple generations.
It does appear the newer Gen 3 SAR9 pistols do have milled slides which tells me they listen to their customer base.
However for the prices these older versions sell for, one can't bitch too much about it.
That's where I have a Canik, stoeger and glock/glock clones. I'm good on polymer striker fired Pistols. Hence I went with the 2000, all metal and hammer fired. Also from PSA at a crazy price. And the build quality is phenomenal.
Yeah I wondered about that too? Do people not read what they write before posting it? Hahaha
Besides that this is a fantastic pistol! All SAR line of pistols are probably the best value for money on the market today. Super reliable, accurate and smooth shooting! Love all my SAR pistols.
I don't see the point of just throwing optic screw holes on top without a cut. Your optic is thst much higher. You'd need even higher sites for any sort of cowitness. I like my 2000, but I just don't see the point of cheaping out this way. I find it dumb.
