Hi-Point 9mm 16.5" 10-Rds Carbine Rifle, +P Rated, Black - $235.52

I can vouch for this 9mm carbine - one of the most accurate, reliable and ugly guns I have (but it works!}.

I'll also say this is the only Hi-point worth buying. I have the 9mm and the .40 version. Been 100% reliable and impressively accurate. I don't mind the ergos, but it is rather heavy and the balance seems awkward compared to other options. The plus side of that trade off is I paid under 2 bills for both of mine when I bought them. Fun plinker for sure and I'd have no issues reaching for it in SD if it was in reach.

I can confirm the somewhat odd ergos, but this thing runs as my example had zero malfunctions with even the worst 9mm you could find. It's also accurate which I wasn't expecting. The standard mags are only like 10 rounds (if I remember right) but if you can get past the planet of the apes design elements, it's really a great little pistol carbine for under 3 benjis.

This is the ONLY hi-point firearm that I would ever give a positive opinion about. I've owned a couple of these carbines just for shits and giggles and they actually perform quite well. They are pretty reliable and accurate for what they are. Would I buy one to use as my only self defense weapon? No. Would I buy one to keep in the truck and to use as say a camp gun? Sure. They are definitely ugly as sin and are a little awkward in the ergonomics but for a couple hundred bucks they are fun.
