Unless you have a gun store or a walk-in safe/gun room, this seems unsafe.
Personally, if I needed such a thing, I would just walk to the many construction site dumpsters around me, pull out some of 2x4s they only needed to cut a few inches off and trashed the rest for some wasteful reason, and make my own. I could stain it to look nice, customize it to my rifle collection, use wood that would not mess up my rifle's finish unlike steel, and have a weekend project to teach the kids about power tools (they already love shooting and cleaning guns)
