Damn, I just paid $75 for this...

Historically, this may not be the best price ever for this item but it is a good price.

Specific to this Geisselle charging handle, it is in my experience, my favorite charging handle of all the name brand premium versions available. I'm not going to take the time to explain all the differences but based upon real hands on experience, as an instructor providing hundreds of hours of instruction to hundreds of persons, and personally owning and extensively using many of the alternatives, I would rank the premium ambi handles I own as follows

1. Geisselle
2. Aero Precision
3. Rainier Arms /AXTS
4. Bravo Co./ BCM
4. LWRC

#1 has a noticeable difference over the others which you can readily see when holding and using them side by side. It is the strongest with the greatest sidewall strength through the length of the handle. The polished surfaces make it cycle extra smooth, and it provides gas blow back protection.

#2 thru #4, are so close they can almost be tied, and considering price, I have often found the Aero to be cheaper on sale than others and therefore is a repeat purchase for me when on sale.

If you want the largest handles, than Aero is your pick. If you shoot suppressed, or have an over gassed rifle than the Geisselle and the Bravo offer the best protection against gas blowback.

If you want a different option, something to consider are these two variations, which are ambidextrous in use but dont have moving handles. Look them up and you will see how they work.

If you dont have to have ambi charging and want a durable and affordable option my favorite budget handle is the

Strike industries extended latch handle.

It is still 7075 aluminum, has smooth polished surface, and offers protection against gas blow back, at a price so cheap I dont have to risk anything with generics made of unknown or lesser grade aluminum, or with latch pivot pins proven to fail as is the case with many of the generic imports.

What makes this charging handle better than an ambi handle that looks the same and it made of the same material but costs 18 dollars?
