These are decent holsters. The retention system can weaken over time but overall these are a good choice for anyone looking to step up to an active retention style holster. I've seen so many people carrying firearms in super cheap, non retention, fabric or plastic type holsters. One should never carry a sidearm in a loose, cheap, type holster that ones gun could easily be taken out of your holster if it ended up being a hands on type situation or you need to run. Truthfully if your open carrying, you MUST have at least a level one retention holster like this.
As important as carrying a pistol that your familiar with, trained with and are confident with, a good quality gun belt and holster should be used. The biggest thing is training! Train train train with your COMPLETE carry system. You cannot just throw a gun into a holster and go bouncing around town or whatever. When time is of the essence all that training will be muscle memory and allow you to operate effectively and efficiently. If you haven't trained with your complete system, your or your loved ones are likely to end up dead.
